The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The Data Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data across multiple systems and platforms. Here, you will make an impact by: · Lead complex, non-routine data analyses to support strategic finance initiatives, executive decision-making, and business performance evaluation. · Interpret and synthesize large, complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and root causes across financial and operational domains. · Develop, validate, and refine advanced metrics, KPIs, and analytical models to ensure alignment with governance standards and business strategy. · Own end-to-end data validation, reconciliation, and certification processes across source systems, data platforms, and finance reporting layers. · Evaluate the accuracy and reliability of financial data and the effectiveness of internal data and financial controls. · Lead the development and implementation of improvements to data quality frameworks, reconciliation processes, and analytical tools. · Serve as a subject matter expert for certified data sources, data definitions, and data lineage within Finance. · Partner with Finance leaders, IT, and data governance teams to resolve complex, interrelated data issues where solutions are not immediately apparent. · Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives, including defining scope, developing project plans, linking work to business strategies, and ensuring successful outcomes. · Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and persuasively to senior, managerial, and professional audiences. · Provide coaching, technical guidance, and mentorship to other team members. · Set analytical standards and best practices, helping elevate overall team capability and consistency. · Contribute input on project performance and development of team members when appropriate. Continuous Improvement & Innovation · Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate manual activities, and improve scalability and sustainability of Finance data solutions. · Apply advanced problem-solving techniques and adapt methods to evolving business needs and work conditions. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field and (7) seven years of experience in data analysis, reconciliation, or financial systems in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: - Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel for complex data analysis, validation, and reconciliation. - Strong understanding of financial statements, cost structures, and key business performance metrics. - Demonstrated experience solving complex, ambiguous data problems requiring significant judgment and interpretation. - Self-starter with excellent negotiation skills and communication skills. - Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake or similar). - Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial data structures. - Experience designing or operating data quality frameworks, certified data environments, or internal controls. - Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence outcomes without formal authority. - Strong communication and persuasion skills, with the ability to explain complex information to knowledgeable audiences and balance differing perspectives.
