As the Operational Excellence Sr. Manager, Advanced Problem Solving, you will: - Deliver on key Quality, Service, and cost metrics. Focused on Variation reduction and elimination (Yield, Scrap) - Guide, deploy, and execute the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), our “one best way” methodology and tools that support our holistic operational excellence program across assigned Functional teams. - Contribute to the overall Global Operations & Supply Chain organizational goals by identifying organizational needs required to achieve key performance indicators. Develop and execute plans that deliver annual improvements in performance, process excellence, and programmatic savings. - Partner with assigned Functional teams to eliminate waste, improve process efficiency, and lead process and value stream transformation activities across prioritized workflows. - Develop process thinking, problem-solving skills, and a Value Stream mindset through MPS and advanced problem-solving teaching, coaching, and mentoring. - Facilitate strategic advanced problem-solving events with functional/cross-functional teams to deliver improved performance. - Provide consultation on the use of process control techniques to improve process performance and product quality. Must Have: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, and/or operational excellence structures, or master’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, and/or operational excellence structures - Certified Shainin Red X Apprentice with the ability to continue to Journeyman or Master Nice to Have: - Certified Shainin Red X Journeyman or Master - Certified Shainin TransaXional Journeyman or Master - Certification in Shainin Rolling Top 5 or extensive experience - Strong change management, coaching, and mentoring competency - Ability to influence change without direct authority - Ability to travel 50-75% of the time - Excellent communication and presentation skills, including leading training courses in-person or virtually, with the ability to convey and communicate complex concepts simply and clearly - Practical experience in applying operational excellence methods in technical and transactional environments with proven process improvement and cost savings success. - Project management skills with good time management, client relationship management, conflict resolution, training facilitation, and administrative skills - Solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, and financial acumen with proven knowledge and experience in integrating continuous improvement and building sustainable systems - Strong understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Working Conditions: Travel typically 50% to 75% but varies based on initiatives.
