Role Description We are seeking a technically proficient Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role will manage revenue recognition processes, revenue share operations, and drive process improvements across our finance function. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager. What you will work on - Revenue Accounting & Financial Reporting - Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. - Prepare and review journal entries related to revenue transactions, including deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract assets/liabilities. - Analyze complex customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment, working closely with sales, legal, and finance teams. - Maintain and reconcile revenue-related general ledger accounts in NetSuite, investigating and resolving discrepancies. - Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits. - Support month-end and quarter-end reporting, including preparation of financial statement schedules and management reports. - Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies, procedures, and internal controls. - Revenue Share Management - Manage end-to-end revenue share program accounting, including partner payment calculations, reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly settlements across multiple programs and partners. - Analyze complex revenue share agreements to determine proper accounting treatment, payment methodologies, and compliance with contractual terms. - Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in revenue share data, partner payments, and reporting; investigate root causes and implement preventative controls. - Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, AP, Sales Operations, and partner-facing teams to ensure accurate revenue share execution and contract compliance. - Process Improvement & Technical Solutions - Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across revenue accounting and revenue share workflows, identifying inefficiencies and implementing technical solutions. - Build and maintain reporting infrastructure using QuickSight, Power BI, and other analytics tools; develop data validation processes and management dashboards. - Leverage Python or other scripting tools to automate manual processes and improve data accuracy. - Extract and analyze data from multiple systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, SharePoint) to support revenue analysis and decision-making. - Create and maintain technical documentation for processes, system workflows, and calculation methodologies. - Collaboration & Support - Collaborate with FP&A and operations teams to provide revenue forecasting and analysis. - Assist with the implementation and optimization of revenue management systems and tools. - Assist sales and legal teams with contract negotiation by providing revenue recognition recommendations. - Mentor junior accounting staff and provide technical accounting guidance on revenue matters. - Support special projects related to process improvements, system implementations, or technical accounting research. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. - CPA certification or actively pursuing. - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years focused on revenue accounting. - Strong technical proficiency: Advanced Excel required; experience with at least 2 to 3 of: SQL, Python, Power BI, QuickSight, Tableau, or similar analytics/automation tools. - Systems experience: NetSuite (required), Salesforce, SharePoint. - Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose complex operational/accounting problems and develop practical, scalable solutions. - Experience working with large datasets, building data reconciliation processes, and managing high-volume transaction workflows. - Proven track record of process improvement and operational efficiency gains. - Strong knowledge of US GAAP revenue recognition standards (ASC 606). - Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred - Experience managing revenue share, partner payments, or commission accounting programs. - Experience in SaaS, technology, healthcare/pharma, or subscription-based business models. - Big 4 public accounting experience. - Familiarity with revenue automation tools (RevPro, Zuora Revenue, etc.). - Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls. - Background in business intelligence or data analytics. Physical Requirements - 95% desk work. - Occasional travel to company locations/on sites as needed. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification or actively pursuing.
