Job Description

Virtual Platform Administrator

CompTech Computer Technologies

• Manage and maintain virtualized infrastructure across on-premises data centers and DoD and commercial cloud environments, including private, public, and hybrid clouds • Implement, configure, and upgrade host systems, hypervisors, and virtual application software, along with supporting hardware, software, and applications. • Provide cloud-based infrastructure support for virtual machines, virtual appliances, software, programs, applications, and all associated virtualized components. • Ensure the high availability, security, and integrity of hosts, virtual management platforms, and infrastructure resources. • Monitor hypervisors, infrastructure, and virtualization applications by configuring alerts, reviewing error logs, and automating administrative tasks to maintain system stability. • Install and maintain host and virtualization infrastructure patches and releases across development, test, pre-production, and production environments. • Serve as a key technical resource for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to hosts, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructure. • Create, maintain, and update accurate system documentation for assigned environments, including configuration details and change tracking. • Assists with capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning of virtualized systems to ensure optimal operation. • Participate in virtualization disaster recovery and fault-tolerance planning, including the development and support of disaster recovery strategies. • Analyze performance trends to identify opportunities for optimization and improved system and application performance.

Job Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in the management and maintenance of virtualized server environments and hosted applications
  • At least two (2) years of qualifying experience must include managing successful large scale, multi-disciplinary (network, virtualization, systems administration) projects involving virtual servers
  • Five (5) years’ hands-on experience working with and supporting Department of Defense (DoD) Commercial Cloud Hosting solutions
  • Well versed in implementing and sustaining complex multicloud solutions
  • IA-Level: IATII: CCNA-Networking
  • One of the following:
  • Google Associate Cloud Engineer
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • One of the following:
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
