Position Overview The Senior Sales Engineer will work with the Direct Sales and Alliance teams to provide technical support during the sales cycle for our relevant solutions within Sovos’ Indirect Tax Technology Suite (ITTS). The Senior Sales Engineer acts as the bridge between sales and product, professional services & support, utilizing technical expertise to support the sales team and deliver solutions that meet customer needs. The Senior Sales Engineer will be adept at leveraging technical expertise to deliver innovative solutions, ensuring a seamless integration of product offerings with client needs. Also, this role possesses strong communication, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration and the successful execution of complex sales initiatives. Known for developing robust sales strategies, conducting impactful product demonstrations, and providing comprehensive technical support to both clients and internal sales teams. The Senior Sales Engineer will report to the Director of Sales Engineering – North America. Job Responsibilities - Provide superior domain expertise around ITTS solutions - Maintain expert level understanding of functionality and technical architecture of our products - Assist in the client discovery process to help uncover unforeseen challenges and desired solution architecture. Also conduct reviews of discovery questionnaires to ensure customer landscape knowledge is documented and any other sales opportunities are identified - Develop a firm understanding of customer needs, pain points, and requirements around the ITTS and align Sovos solutions to fulfill the needs and requirements to eliminate the pain - Work closely with Sovos’ Sales to conduct sales and solutions presentations - Collaborate with Professional Services and product functions to ensure a successful onboarding post sale - Maintain and continually improve demonstration capabilities in order to be able to present to customers a compelling and coherent narrative as to the key features and benefits of Sovos solutions - Conduct in-depth technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospects and clients. - Act with integrity and demonstrate ethical behavior in all matters with all stakeholders - Take full responsibility for ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction - Demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and commitment to personal development and learning - Focus on process improvement, adept at optimizing sales workflows and driving efficiency to enhance revenue growth and customer satisfaction. - Develop and lead training sessions both within and outside the Sales Engineer department - Serve as a subject matter expert surrounding the creation of RFP and RFI responses for prospective new clients Qualifications - Bachelor’s in related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education - Minimum 6 years of Sales Engineer experience or equivalent - Ability to be strategic towards business outcomes as well as manage and handle day-to-day details and deadlines - Strong team orientation with a history of working collaboratively in a fast paced environment - Ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize activities - Thorough knowledge of MS Office software including Excel, Word, & Power Point - Well-developed business ethics and the ability to maintain a high level of discretion - Self-motivated and strong drive to succeed - Solid knowledge on different communication protocols (e.g. APIs, SFTP, AS2 etc. as well as different delivery formats (e.g. IDOC, EDIFACT, XML, UBL etc). - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. - Multiple language skills preferred - Moderate travel required for client meetings, trade shows, Sovos Events, and special projects - Essential Job Functions: - Interact effectively with teammates, colleagues and customers - Comprehend and communicate complex concepts - Concentrate, analyze and resolve complex problems - Utilize technology (e.g. phone systems, computer hardware and software applications) to fulfill work requirements Organizational Alignment - Reports to: Senior Director, Sales Engineering Environmental Job Requirement and Working Conditions - Primary office location: US - Remote - Position Requires - moderate (less than 50%) travel required both domestic and international to Sovos locations and events - Utilize technology (e.g., phone systems, computer hardware and software applications) to fulfill work requirements Company Background Sovos is a global provider of tax, compliance and trust solutions and services that enable businesses to navigate an increasingly regulated world with true confidence.
