The Mission We are seeking a talented Senior Cloud Architect to join our growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. The right candidate is someone who …. Your Assignment - Architecture and solutions - Lead client engagements - Provide thought leadership around scalable next-generation cloud architecture experience and operational guidance to clients - Lead cross-functional implementation teams to deliver world-class solutions to clients - Own the implementation of stories and other engineering of advanced cloud work for clients - Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in multiple frameworks and can break apart projects into independent components at an appropriate level, taking into account different aspects of a stack and know how to build stability and security into them. - Help clients get work done smarter with automation and code - Lead a team to navigate complex bureaucratic relationships to bring all stakeholders together around a common product vision and strategy - Lead re-platforming and refactoring efforts for existing systems - Lead Client discovery and the creation of a prioritized backlog for continuous improvement initiatives - Observability and Monitoring - Design, implement, and build scalable architectures leveraging AWS services with an emphasis on reliability, security, and cost efficiency. - Build and maintain observability solutions using AWS native (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray, Config) and partner tools (e.g. Datadog, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry) for APM, infrastructure monitoring, logging, and tracing. - Work with a 24x7 response team and operations leadership group to help establish the precise collection of metrics, data and logs needed to properly monitor an application or workload - Within this observability framework help establish corresponding runbooks and automation that can be deployed when certain metrics and conditions (monitoring) are met - Work with the CloudOps teams in effort to reduce noise and address root causes of issues surfaced - Partner with DevOps and security teams to ensure the necessary resilience, security, and cost-optimization features are embedded in solutions - General - Learn, coach, and share knowledge and skills with other team members - Prepare work for team members of varying levels of experience, defining stories and task type work - Contribute to internal IP and open source development - Participate in delivery efforts using Agile or other work methodologies - Build relationships with vendors and partners - Engage with clients including presentations, technical decisions, and education opportunities - Learn, research, and stay up to date on best practices and evolutionary capability in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud - Be a technical team advocate, ensuring clear direction and efficient execution - Perform code reviews, provide feedback, and pair when beneficial - Keep an eye out for opportunities to support our clients in even greater ways - Write cool blog posts, do talks at community events, help us achieve additional certifications in the AWS Partner Community, help our clients solve all sorts of problems - Occasional travel may be required to meet stakeholders, kick off new projects, attend conferences, and attend company functions. - Other duties as assigned Your Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 6 years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc); Role Description Connection is seeking an Associate Cloud Solution Architect (Assoc CSA) to support the continued growth of our AWS and Google Cloud (GCP) business. This role will play an important part in accelerating cloud engagements, strengthening partner relationships, and helping sales teams move cloud opportunities from early discussions to successful outcomes. Working under the supervision of the Director of Sales Engineering for Microsoft, the Associate Cloud Solution Architect follows a fast-track career development path within the Presales Cloud Solution Architect team. The role supports Sales teams and clients on both new and existing cloud opportunities, providing pre-sales technical consulting and solution design across major hyperscale platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The Associate CSA participates in a structured 3–6 month certification and training track, with mentorship from senior Cloud Solution Architects during the first year. Upon completion of the initial certification track and based on performance, the Associate CSA progresses toward the Cloud Solution Architect role. Currently, AWS is the largest hyperscale cloud provider by revenue, yet Connection has minimal AWS business today. As engagement with AWS continues to increase across our customer base, we are seeking a dedicated resource who can help drive opportunity development, improve solution turnaround times, and support deeper collaboration with AWS programs and teams. Many Connection customers—particularly across manufacturing, healthcare, banking/financial services, and federal sectors—already have a strong AWS presence.
