Position Purpose: Lead and mature the cloud cost optimization initiatives. Serve as a subject matter expert, partnering with engineering, finance, and procurement teams to drive advanced financial accountability, architect cloud efficiency solutions, and develop sophisticated forecasting models that align cloud economics with business outcomes. Proactively identify opportunities, influence strategic decisions, and mentor others in FinOps best practices. - Monitor cloud usage across AWS and MS Azure; analyze spending patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities. - Implement strategies such as rightsizing, reserved instances, savings plans, and storage/network optimization. - Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize cloud spend across teams and business units. - Build and maintain financial models to forecast cloud spend and track against budget. - Create executive-level reporting that connects cloud economics to business outcomes. - Partner with Finance to develop cost allocation methodologies and bridge technical-financial gaps. - Enhance data pipelines with validation checks and anomaly detection. - Automate reporting and cost optimization alerts using a set of tools including Cloud Financial Management Platform, Cloud-Native tools, Python, Terraform, Gitlab Pipelines, Data Lake Apps, etc. - Administer cloud cost management platforms and tagging/governance programs. - Work closely with Cloud Engineers, Architects, and Procurement to align cloud strategy with business goals. - Mentor and coach team members on FinOps principles and cloud cost best practices. - Influence engineering teams through clear communication of cost concepts and optimization strategies. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Complies with all policies and standards. Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2 – 4 years of related experience. Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position. Pay Range: $75,300.00 - $135,400.00 per year Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility. This is a remote position. PLEASE NOTE: - It is a Remote Position. - Hours: Part-Time. Estimated at 500 hours annually. between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM ET, M-F). - Remote Support will be provided for the Client's office in Washington, D.C. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer II to provide advanced, Tier 2 escalation support for the National Mediation Board (NMB) in Washington, D.C. This is a part-time role requiring an estimated 500 hours annually. The NMB's infrastructure is heavily reliant on Google Cloud, comprising a General Support System (GSS) and a collection of cloud-based web applications (APPS) that support a highly remote workforce. Key Responsibilities: - Act as the Tier 2 escalation point for complex cloud, network, and application issues routed from the Tier 1 Single Point of Contact (SPOC). - Support and maintain the NMB’s General Support System (GSS) and cloud-based web apps hosted in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace. - Collaborate with application developers, Tier 1 personnel, and third-party service providers to ensure seamless system maintenance and software support. - Provide advanced configuration and troubleshooting for NMB’s LAN, firewalls, and secure remote access tools. - Continuously improve capabilities for NMB’s infrastructure operations, management, and customer support through the application of process improvement methodologies. - Ensure systems meet stringent federal security requirements, including adherence to established configuration baselines. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements: - Must have a minimum of five (5) years of continuous experience in a Cloud service support role. - A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. (BS/BA is highly preferred). - Salesforce Certification and Google IT Support Professional Certification (highly preferred). - Must successfully pass a background check prior to being granted system access (takes 6-8 weeks) and be eligible for a PIV card. - Strong problem-solving abilities, highly motivated, capable of working independently, and possessing excellent written and oral communication skills.
