Senior Cloud Infrastructure, IT Compliance Engineer

• Management, monitoring, and maintenance of build, test, and deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps (for mobile and web products) • Champion best practices for software delivery, deployment automation, and operational excellence across the engineering lifecycle • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and configuration management solutions to streamline provisioning, scaling, and updates • Perform IT access reviews and oversee identity and access management (IAM) processes • Lead account provisioning/deprovisioning workflows to ensure compliance and security • Support security audits, compliance assessments, and policy enforcement in collaboration with internal stakeholders • Coordinate vendor onboarding, risk assessment, and periodic review processes • Laptop security management via MDM to ensure security compliance • Incident response, triage, and management • Conducting infrastructure capacity planning and performance tuning • Collaborating with engineers to design and implement scalable and resilient systems • Maintenance and improvement of cloud infrastructure reliability and scalability • Implementing and maintaining disaster recovery procedures
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or hybrid infrastructure/IT engineering roles
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence engineering and security decisions across teams
- Strong experience managing PaaS-based cloud infrastructure in Azure: App Service, Storage, SQL Database, Front Door, Key Vault, Log Analytics Workspace
- Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
- Experience with Bicep or equivalent IaC frameworks for Azure resource deployment and lifecycle management
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps YAML.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms for real-time infrastructure insights

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer II to provide advanced, Tier 2 escalation support for the National Mediation Board (NMB) in Washington, D.C. This is a part-time role requiring an estimated 500 hours annually. The NMB's infrastructure is heavily reliant on Google Cloud, comprising a General Support System (GSS) and a collection of cloud-based web applications (APPS) that support a highly remote workforce. Key Responsibilities: - Act as the Tier 2 escalation point for complex cloud, network, and application issues routed from the Tier 1 Single Point of Contact (SPOC). - Support and maintain the NMB’s General Support System (GSS) and cloud-based web apps hosted in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace. - Collaborate with application developers, Tier 1 personnel, and third-party service providers to ensure seamless system maintenance and software support. - Provide advanced configuration and troubleshooting for NMB’s LAN, firewalls, and secure remote access tools. - Continuously improve capabilities for NMB’s infrastructure operations, management, and customer support through the application of process improvement methodologies. - Ensure systems meet stringent federal security requirements, including adherence to established configuration baselines. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements: - Must have a minimum of five (5) years of continuous experience in a Cloud service support role. - A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. (BS/BA is highly preferred). - Salesforce Certification and Google IT Support Professional Certification (highly preferred). - Must successfully pass a background check prior to being granted system access (takes 6-8 weeks) and be eligible for a PIV card. - Strong problem-solving abilities, highly motivated, capable of working independently, and possessing excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Provision, configure, and maintain Azure infrastructure resources, including VMs, storage accounts, networking, and Azure SQL databases. • Administer and optimize Azure DevOps environments, including pipelines, repositories, and permissions. • Plan and execute software deployments, including applications, data, and databases, ensuring minimal downtime. • Monitor system performance, security, and availability across all Azure-hosted environments. • Provide application support for clients, focusing on deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. • Collaborate with software development teams to ensure applications are deployed and maintained in alignment with infrastructure best practices. • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures. • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and security compliance protocols. • Act as the liaison between cloud infrastructure management and client software support. • Also act as local IT supporting CalcAir Employees with adhoc tech and equipment requirements
• In your role, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating market trends and new technologies for IaaS and Paas Services for our SAP customer base (Managed Cloud Services) • You will play an active role in creating managed services portfolio roadmaps • Your tasks will also include designing new global managed cloud portfolio services in terms of content, offerings, and cost calculation • You will take on end-to-end service offer management (go-to-market, portfolio, delivery) with a focus on portfolio lifecycle management and support the sales and presales teams with your expertise • You will maintain key product documentation (SOWs, costing, pricing, sales enablement) in collaboration with Presales & Bid Management • Your responsibilities also include providing internal teams with product knowledge and conducting enablement sessions to ensure readiness for market launch • Finally, you will be responsible for preparing decision-making templates for senior/executive management
