Staff Accountant

LMR Technical Group

• Checking and entering accounts payable vouchers to include subcontractors. • Checking and approving employee expense reports according to company policy. • Reviewing timesheets for semi-monthly payroll processing and following up with employees and managers when timecards need to be corrected or submitted. • Preparing payroll for review and submission. • Assisting new employees on timesheet completion, leave request, and expense report procedures. • Prepare billing in accordance with the applicable contract. • Assisting with month-end close. • Other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Two to five years of government contract accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

About the Role As our Cost Staff Accountant, you are responsible for supporting the timely completion of monthly close activities related to Cost Accounting. This includes preparation of journal entries, Cost Accounting reconciliations, gathering audit requests, and assisting with lease administration and cross functional projects as needed. This position is remote and will report into Lovesac Corporate HUB based in Stamford, CT. What You’ll Do Support month end close activities related to cost accounting, including recording and reviewing accruals and allocations for freight, warehouse expenses, obsolete inventory, warranty reserves, sales returns, and cost of merchandise sold Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and provide analytical commentary on budget to actual variances, with a focus on cost of merchandise and inventory Partner with Inventory Control to maintain accurate costing in NetSuite, reconcile physical inventory counts, and review, process, and post validated inventory adjustments Assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventory processes, identifying variances and opportunities for improvement Prepare routine and ad hoc cost analysis, accounting schedules, and variance reporting to support internal management and external reporting requirements Analyze key cost drivers, including purchase price variances, invoice to PO variances, cost revaluations, and work order variances.
