Role Description As a Major Case Special Investigator, you will utilize both analytical acumen and strong investigative techniques to explore fraudulent schemes within claims and underwriting. You will identify, investigate, and make appropriate recommendations for the disposition of losses which appear fraudulent in nature. You will act as a liaison between the company, law enforcement, and state fraud bureaus. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. - Performs in-depth investigations of the most complex fraud or misconduct allegations related to claims, underwriting, and coverage issues referred to SIU. - Develops well-supported recommendations for the disposition of individual cases as well as broader network-based fraud patterns. - Applies deep expertise in investigating complex claims and organized fraud schemes to proactively identify and mitigate questionable exposures across the company’s book of business. - Gathers, reviews, and analyzes evidence, conducts background checks, interviews key parties, and prepares appropriate recommendations and reports. - Maintains thorough documentation in case files, including actions taken, investigative strategies, and information gathered. - Produces comprehensive investigative reports as required for court or other legal proceedings. - Collaborates with law enforcement officials and regulatory bodies in civil and criminal investigations and prosecutions. - Assists defense counsel on cases in litigation due to fraud or arson. - Partners with claims, underwriting, and other business partners by providing fraud detection and prevention training and participating in case discussions. - Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, evolving investigative methodologies, and regulatory changes affecting fraud investigations. - Adheres to current legislation, judicial rulings, and established best practices governing insurance-fraud investigations. - Upholds strict confidentiality and ensures the integrity of investigative processes.
