• Design and maintain automated dashboards for key metrics reporting across Talent Acquisition, extract the insights that will have the biggest impact, and be comfortable with sharing a narrative that complements the data • Ability to segment large data sets and extract data from data warehouses using SQL, Excel, Google Sheets, and other business intelligence tools • Manipulate and combine data sets coming from disparate data sources using data transformation tools such as Alteryx, SAS, Power Query, Data Bricks, etc. • Analyze data according to appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods, and partner with other TA program teams as the subject matter expert for all things TA data • Gather, compile, and validate supporting data for operational metric reporting, and provide commentary around insights and trends that drive business performance • Continually evaluate and refine analytical approaches, processes, tools, and operations to ensure the team is providing the highest level of impact • Partner with stakeholders in the business and the broader team (Talent Acquisition Managers, Recruiters, Sourcers) to build empathy around Talent Acquisition customers, and ultimately improve the customer experience • Be flexible and work on ad hoc and special projects based on changing business needs and company priorities

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of related work experience – finance, people analytics, or related field
  • Must have experience with/building in the following systems: Alteryx or other data preparation tools, SQL, Tableau and Amazon QuickSight
  • Experience in Data Visualization tools - the ability to utilize large datasets to build reports and dashboards
  • Expert Excel data modeling and analysis skills
  • Must have experience working with large data sets/data warehousing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

We work to build the white flank of multiracial majorities fighting for the things all communities need. We organize white people by engaging their shared interest-- what they stand to gain by joining alongside people of color. We do this through about 100 local chapters across the US and Canada, a National Membership base, and local base building projects in the South. We ground our organizing in a framework of shared interest and have an inclusive, open-hearted approach to organizing - calling people into this work rather than creating barriers to participation - while maintaining a clear political line. We believe that together, as part of a powerful multi-racial, cross-class movement for collective liberation, we can force the systems of white supremacy and racialized capitalism to crumble. Summary of Position: SURJ is seeking a Data Associate to assist SURJ’s cross-departmental Data Team in troubleshooting tech and data issues throughout the organization, ensuring data integrity and validity, tracking and maintaining new data across departments, and providing data insights to all departments across the organization. This position will report to the Data Director within SURJ. This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific terms and conditions of employment are subject to negotiations for a Collective Bargaining Agreement PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES — Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: Priority 1: Data Support (75%) - Understand and support the flow of all the data SURJ gathers– fundraising, community organizing, and electoral organizing. - Field a wide variety of data-related requests from across SURJ and our broader network of chapters and members. - Meet regularly with the cross-departmental Data Team to assess organizational data needs and problem solve data questions. - Act as a strategic partner with organizers around data for campaign planning and field organizing. Priority 2: Systems Administration (25%) - Help administer and maintain SURJ’s data warehouse by: - Transforming raw data from other platforms into tables that can be used for data visualization. - Collaborate with staff from other departments to ensure data needs are being met by the structures created in the data warehouse. - Create documentation for workflows and tables used by staff. - Work with Organizing Systems Coordinator and other staff to maintain data hygiene across all data-generating platforms - Provide ongoing support to SURJ staff on the systems, both from on-call support requests and in regular check-ins with the different SURJ staff teams.
