• Act as the ultimate steward of Huckleberry’s visual and narrative identity. Ensure our brand strategy is consistently expressed across all external touchpoints. • Lead the conceptual development of brand-led marketing campaigns. Translate marketing objectives into compelling visual stories that build trust and emotional resonance. • Architect and oversee the evolution of our brand identity. You will define the North Star for Huckleberry’s future look and feel, guiding the team through its implementation. • Provide high-level direction to the Senior Designer and external partners. Review work not just for aesthetic quality, but for strategic alignment with our brand mission. • Collaborate directly with Brand Marketing, Product, and Executive leadership to ensure the brand vision supports business goals and product innovation. • Own how the brand is perceived externally, ensuring our ethos is felt in every campaign, partnership, and piece of content.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional design and creative experience, with at least 4+ years in a creative leadership or art direction role.
  • Proven track record of strategic brand building at a high-growth tech company, mobile app, or consumer-facing brand.
  • A portfolio that shines with storytelling. You should demonstrate an ability to build comprehensive brand systems and lead multi-channel campaigns that move the needle.
  • Strategic Mindset: You don't just "make things look good"—you understand how design drives business results and user trust.
  • Exceptional Communication: Ability to articulate creative decisions to non-creative stakeholders and inspire the team around a shared vision.
  • Expertise in Brand Architecture: Deep understanding of how to evolve a brand identity in a way that remains scalable and culturally relevant.

You will own and evolve our visual identity, lead a small internal studio (designer, video producer, and contract photographer) and supervise an external agency for private-label packaging. This role blends strategic vision with execution across digital/physical touchpoints, including paid and organic social, email design systems, motion graphics, landing pages, photography, and packaging. You’ll partner cross-functional teams to define and elevate a cohesive brand vision, foster team growth, and ensure consistent delivery at scale. Weekly presence in our Bushwick photo studio is expected, with a focus on mentorship and scalable processes in a fast-paced startup environment.
