Assistant Financial Controller

• Supervision of global AP and AR Functions of 8, along with recommendation of improvement in the process, and keeping the process document updated • Responsible for Payroll processing for both US (Rippling) and UK (Payfit) by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders • Leading the monthly closing for all three locations, along with full ownership of PL review and Balance Sheet reconciliation, with ownership of monthly reporting on flux analysis including consolidation reporting • Treasury management, including cash forecasting and requirements by office; administer bank accounts and liaise with the bank to resolve any issues related to banking • Leading any communication with HMRC about VAT, PAYE, and working with our tax consultants, along with ownership of periodic VAT filing. • Ownership of process transformation processes and training a wider team to implement those processes • Lead the annual group audit in coordination with the local teams in Germany, Nepal and Kenya • Supporting regular queries from the operational business • Other ad-hoc finance and accounting duties as assigned to meet changing business needs and departmental objectives
Job Requirements
- Accounting Degree (ACA, ACCA, CPA)
- Proven experience in month-end and reporting for multi-currency, multi-entity group ideally within EU and US accounting standards
- Strong working knowledge and confidence using cloud-based finance tools (Ideally Netsuite)
- Comfortable in a hands-on role within a growing business
- Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic mindset
- Passionate about building processes, automation, and tools from the ground up
- A process mindset: motivated by building simple, scalable, and effective financial processes.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
