Role Description Impact Advisors is seeking an experienced Hospital Finance Associate Director / Director to join our Strategy & Operations team. In this role, you will partner with hospital and health system leaders to assess and strengthen the performance of their finance functions. This position is ideal for professionals who have served in hospital finance leadership roles (such as Controller or AVP of Finance) or have led healthcare finance audits in consulting or public accounting environments. You will leverage your knowledge of hospital finance operations—including financial processes, organizational structure, and workflows—to evaluate current-state performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend actionable solutions. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of hospital financial operations, and the ability to build credibility quickly with client finance leaders through thoughtful analysis and practical recommendations. Responsibilities - Lead assessments of hospital finance functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue/expense management processes. - Evaluate finance department structure, processes, controls, and workflows to identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. - Analyze financial and operational data to identify performance issues, cost drivers, and opportunities to improve financial outcomes. - Develop practical recommendations and implementation roadmaps to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and governance. - Present findings and recommendations to hospital finance leadership, including CFOs and senior executives. - Build trusted relationships with client finance teams by demonstrating expertise, professionalism, and practical insight into hospital finance operations. - Support client initiatives to improve financial processes, reporting, and decision-making capabilities. - Collaborate with cross-functional consulting teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes for healthcare clients. - Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools, and best practices related to hospital finance assessments. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. - 8–15+ years of relevant experience in hospital or healthcare finance. - Prior experience as a Hospital Controller, Assistant/Associate Vice President of Finance, or similar leadership role within a hospital or health system OR experience as a Manager or Senior Manager in healthcare audit or advisory services at a consulting or public accounting firm. - Strong understanding of hospital finance operations, including general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and financial controls. - Experience analyzing financial performance and identifying operational improvement opportunities within healthcare organizations.
