Role Description Myriad Genetics is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) I within Medical Affairs. This MSL position is a field-based research, scientific, and clinical expert role. The primary foci of this role are to: - Lead and contribute to research related to Myriad’s mission and goals, specifically in reproductive genetics and hereditary cancer testing (HCT). - Engage with regional and local key opinion leaders (KOLs). - Support and initiate strategic value-added clinical education to clients in collaboration with the Myriad Sales team. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager of the Research and KOL focused MSL team, with regular travel (40%) required, averaging 2 days per week within the aligned territory. Responsibilities The primary responsibilities (70%) are to: - Contribute to the development of the overall Medical Affairs research strategy. - Lead and/or contribute to research projects within Medical Affairs. - Lead and/or contribute to research projects within Clinical Development. - Participate/lead abstract and publication development. - Present at national, regional, and local conferences. - Contribute to the development of the KOL engagement strategy. - Initiate, develop, and sustain independent relationships with regional and local KOLs. - Engage in project-based work and/or consistent collaboration with commercially oriented partners. Thirty percent of the time will be customer-centric, aligned closely to Myriad Medical Affairs’ business strategies and initiatives: - Serve as the clinical expert to healthcare providers by providing effective remote and on-site clinical education and support. - Partner with Sales in developing strategic plans for key accounts. - Provide ongoing clinical support, education, and training to the Sales team. - Document clinical interventions and insights in a timely manner. Qualifications - Advanced degree in genetic counseling or another related field required (e.g., MS, APP, PA, NP). - Genetics and research experience are strongly preferred. - Current and active relevant board certifications and licenses required. - Post-graduate clinical experience preferred. - Understanding genetics, genetic testing, and current service delivery models preferred. - Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication abilities. - Demonstrate excellent relationship building skills. - Willing and able to travel 2-3 days per week and occasional weekends for conferences and meetings. - Able to effectively manage travel and expenses within budget.
