Horizontal & Transportation Solution Specialist (Remote)
Procore Technologies
We’re looking for a Horizontal & Transportation Solutions Specialist to lead our expansion within the Public Sector. In this specialized role, you will ensure that government agencies—including DOTs, Transit Authorities, and Municipal Public Works departments—drive maximum value from the Procore platform. You’ll serve as the technical lead throughout the public sector procurement and sales process, providing deep domain expertise on how Procore meets the unique regulatory, compliance, and reporting requirements of horizontal infrastructure projects. As a successful Solutions Specialist, you will help bridge the gap between complex public sector needs and modern construction technology. You’ll assist agencies in understanding best practices for managing large-scale linear projects and the business benefits of digital transformation in the public eye. You’ll leverage your consultative mindset and direct experience with public agency workflows to provide recommendations on how an integrated platform improves transparency, taxpayer accountability, and project delivery. You’ll partner closely with Public Sector Sales, Professional Services, and Product teams to ensure our solutions align with the rigorous standards of government construction. What you'll do: - Own the technical win strategy for Public Sector sales cycles, specifically addressing the technical objections and requirements unique to government agencies and DOTs. - Drive platform adoption by strategically aligning Procore’s capabilities with public sector mandates, such as FHWA requirements, state-specific reporting, and prevailing wage compliance. - Become a Procore expert on platform configuration, focusing on how public agencies manage multi-year funding, Right-of-Way (ROW), and inter-agency collaboration. - Rely on your horizontal construction experience to demonstrate how Procore manages the complexities of linear projects like highways, rail, and bridge rehabilitations. - Partner with Public Sector Account Managers to map government business processes—from capital planning to closeout—to the Procore platform. - Function as the Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for horizontal infrastructure, identifying opportunities to modernize legacy systems within existing public accounts. - Lead technical demonstrations tailored to public stakeholders, highlighting transparency, auditability, and data security. - Work collaboratively with Customer Success and Professional Services to ensure smooth implementation for agencies transitioning from paper-based or legacy environments. - Provide perspective on platform technical fit for complex public tenders (RFPs/RFIs) to support leadership in understanding contract requirements. - Pursue and increase knowledge of public sector competitors and partners (e.g., GIS, AASHTOWare) to ensure our value proposition is effectively communicated to agency heads. What we're looking for: - BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred. - 8+ years of experience in horizontal construction or construction technology, with a primary focus on the Public Sector. - Direct experience working for or with DOTs, Transportation Authorities, or public infrastructure agencies is a requirement. - Deep understanding of Public Sector workflows, including public bidding, fund accounting, grant management, and agency-specific compliance standards. - Outstanding technical discovery and communication skills, with the ability to navigate the nuances of public committee meetings and government stakeholders. - Proven record of success in supporting complex, long-cycle sales or projects within a government/public agency framework. - General knowledge of Procore’s API and how integrations with government-standard tools (like Esri/GIS) provide value to public owners. - Ability to develop trusted relationships with public officials and agency engineers. - Experience with CRM and opportunity management systems, preferably Salesforce.com. - Experience with the Procore platform is highly preferred. - A mission-driven passion for improving public infrastructure and modernizing how government agencies build for their communities. Additional Information Base Pay Range: On Target Earning Range: This role may also eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location. For Los Angeles County (unincorporated) Candidates: Procore will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with arrest or conviction records, in accordance with the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, and the California Fair Chance Act. A criminal history may have a direct, adverse, and negative relationship on the following job duties, potentially resulting in the withdrawal of the conditional offer of employment: 1. appropriately managing, accessing, and handling confidential information including proprietary and trade secret information, as well as accessing Procore's information technology systems and platforms; 2. interacting with and occasionally having unsupervised contact with internal/external customers, stakeholders, and/or colleagues; and 3. exercising sound judgment.
