Role Description The M&A Transactions Data Specialist is a senior subject matter expert responsible for the formulation, implementation and enforcement of data collection methodology rules and definitions, content sourcing strategies and all aspects of data integrity along the content curation process. The Data Specialist operates at the intersection of technology and automated content workflows, operations, and deal analysis and accounting rules and methodology. This role largely operates at the same seniority level as a Team Leader but does not include people management responsibilities. Roles & Responsibilities - Serve as the primary SME for the M&A transactions dataset, ensuring clarity in definitions, taxonomy, and coverage standards. - Own and continuously refine SOPs, validation rules, and structured data guidelines. - Conduct deep-dive data audits and gap analyses across the content set to identify coverage gaps, inconsistencies, or quality issues; propose and implement corrective measures. - Partner closely with Product Managers and Technology teams to translate business requirements into scalable operational workflows. - Support automation initiatives, including ingestion logic, AI-assisted extraction, and structured data pipelines. - Act as an escalation support for complex data interpretation and edge cases for the team members. - Enable Team Leaders and Analysts through training, documentation, and change management support. - Design and execute UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for new data features, pipeline changes, or system enhancements related to M&A content. - Support client-facing escalations related to data queries, coverage questions, or quality issues in coordination with Issue Support and Product teams. Qualifications - Expert knowledge and understanding of all aspects of sourcing, curating and supporting an M&A transactions content set. - Strong preference for technically-savvy candidates with understanding of language models and content extraction techniques. - At least 8 years of hands-on experience in all aspects of enterprise-scale M&A content curation - sourcing, deal entity management, collection, standardization and downstream consumption. - Additional experience as a senior individual contributor: M&A or corporate valuations subject matter expert or a process specialist role (minimum 2 years). - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and guide a high performance team. - Sound knowledge of data integrity processes, analytic performance management, and employee development. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a results-oriented mindset. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively. - Proficiency in the Google Suite.
