The Credit Underwriter OE is a developing professional role. This role identifies policy and applies specialty knowledge in monitoring and assessing processes and data. Responsibilities: - Reviews loan submissions for credit judgment and credit worthiness, documentation, ability to pay calculations, loan to value calculations and other functions relating to the credit decision process of the field network. - Handles resubmissions on amended loan request, respond to phone inquires regarding decisions made, policy questions and aid in training various visitors that come to Home Office Credit. - Approves subordination agreements - Other duties as assigned - Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Job Overview In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating mortgage loan applications that fall outside traditional Qualified Mortgage (QM) guidelines. You will assess borrower risk based on alternative documentation, ensure compliance with company policies and investor guidelines, and play a key role in decision-making for loan approvals.
