Underwriting Case Manager

• Responsible for the evaluation and placement of insurance risks for the purpose of determining the best product/premium solution • Typically manages larger, more complex cases • Maintains primary ownership of cases during the underwriting process • Responsible for setting agent/advisor expectations appropriately • Provides an exceptional service experience throughout the process • Researches additional, complex insurance options as needed • Acts as a partner with sales and producers to formulate the best solution for the proposed insured • Negotiates to secure the most competitive offer for placement of policy with the appropriate carrier • Assesses risk and negotiates cases with producers and carriers • Conducts regular proactive case follow-ups via phone and email • Organizes and prioritizes workload to ensure case is processed in a timely manner • Prepares or reviews underwriting summaries for carrier review • Represent company at industry conferences and events • Provides on-going underwriting training to junior staff underwriters and concierge • Carries a caseload of 125-175 larger and more complex cases

Flood Program Reinsurance Underwriter and Modeling Specialist

As the Flood Program Reinsurance Underwriter and Modeling Specialist, you will help drive the profitable growth of our private flood portfolio. You’ll collaborate with underwriters to evaluate and price flood policies within our risk framework, while partnering with actuarial and reinsurance teams to deliver key analytics and performance insights. You will also support the ongoing development of our private flood products by creating reporting and modeling tools, enhancing product strategy, and providing training and guidance to underwriters to promote consistency, quality, and data integrity. What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? - Monitor the quality of the private flood portfolio and recommend targeted geographic caps and reinsurance coverage(s). - Assist the internal reinsurance buying team by providing underwriting guidelines, underwriting audits, and data to external reinsurance partners. - Liaison with teams of exposure modeling, actuarial, data analytics, and predictive modeling to continuously refine exposure, risk selection, and pricing. - Manage external audits and compliance requests. - Contribute to evaluation of internal and external datasets to improve risk selection. - Measure and monitor key performance metrics for the private flood program (quoting activity, quote to bind ratios, average premium) and recommend specific steps to meet target metrics. - Manage new business submission flow. What are the requirements needed for this position? - A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance industry. Insurance modeling or underwriting experience is desired. - Advanced Excel experience and basic SQL knowledge.
