The Mission We are seeking a talented Principal Architect to join our growing Cloud Architecture & Engineering team. The right candidate is someone who has deep expertise building a variety of cloud solutions and is passionate about working with our customers, partners, and employees to drive the business forward. Your mission will be to work alongside Caylent’s Engineers, Delivery Managers, and Engagement Managers to deliver AWS cloud solutions across our diverse and innovative customer base. As a Principal Architect, you will be working with Caylent’s most strategic enterprise customers, leveraging the latest technologies to help disruptive organizations bring innovative ideas to market. In addition, this person will be expected to mentor and develop junior and mid-level architects, contribute to practice-building initiatives, and potentially own and shape the networking technology domain within the consultancy. Your Assignment - Be a thought leader in crafting solutions, reference architectures and best practices. - Engage in a highly collaborative team environment where your expertise is required to propose solutions to lay the foundations for cloud architecture, scaling, development opportunities, cost savings, and vulnerabilities - Design, develop and integrate highly complex DevOps pipelines, including build automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), security, monitoring, logging, and alerting - Kickoff new client engagements - Take on work already in-line with projects and deliverables and research new projects (R&D) - Develop long range plans with customer to adopt cloud best practices - Ensure high quality of project delivery Your Qualifications - 8-10+ Years of experience working as a Network Architect for Enterprise organizations in a consulting capacity - Ability to communicate technical objectives and solutions clearly to clients while establishing and cultivating a professional relationship - Demonstrated critical and strategic thinking about business, products, and technical challenges to stakeholders - Strong expertise building networks and using the following technologies: AWS Cloud WAN, AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Direct Connect Gateway, MPLS, BGP, Site-2-Site VPN, IPAM, CDN. - Familiarity with modern Firewalls e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortigate - Strong hands-on AWS Environment and Serverless Environment - Experience Designing and implementing inter and intra-region high availability solutions - Experience implementing IaC in AWS - Great verbal and written communication skills - Enthusiasm for engaging across diverse client environments - Possess a natural curiosity and excitement for learning new technology– from high-growth startups to large-scale enterprises – and the ability to work cross-functionally within each - Prior presales or solutions scoping experience - Cloud Security Best Practices Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in a some of the following: ○ Migrations ○ CICD ○ IaC (Terraform, Cloudformation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, etc) ○ Scripting ○ Containers (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, Fargate, etc) ○ Experience working on agile projects ○ Incident, release, problem and change management processes Benefits - Medical Insurance for you and eligible dependents - 401k plan with company match up to 4% and immediate vesting - Competitive phantom equity - Company-issued laptop - Dental and Vision insurance - Term Disability Insurance - Term Life Insurance - Flexible Spending Account - Equipment & Office Stipend - Annual stipend for Learning and Development - Unlimited Paid Time Off - 10 Paid Holidays Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $185,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Role Description The Core Infrastructure Engineering Team is responsible for managing all of the infrastructure and databases at BILL. We are seeking a Staff Cloud Network Engineer to lead the design and evolution of our AWS network platform. This role is for a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in AWS networking and infrastructure as code who will set standards, influence architecture, and drive scalable, secure networking solutions across the BILL application ecosystem. You will act as the go-to expert for cloud networking, partnering closely with infrastructure, security, and product engineering teams to ensure our network enables performance, reliability, and growth.
