Role Description Data Analyst II is an individual contributor role that provides healthcare data analysis for Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial lines of business. This role will manage various sources of information and large datasets, including member, pharmacy, claims, laboratory, and provider data to support HEDIS® and state submissions, as well as reporting and analytics projects. This person will provide a strong link between the business customers and the development team, gather and document requirements, perform data analysis, conduct impact assessments, and recommend solutions while staying current with industry regulations and trends. The Data Analyst II will leverage their HEDIS®, healthcare, and technical knowledge to deliver the highest quality of services to all Cotiviti client(s). HEDIS® is a registered trademark of NCQA. Responsibilities - Analyze and troubleshoot healthcare data, including medical and pharmacy claims, lab, provider, and member eligibility data. - Capable of understanding basic SQL loads, file layout, and specifications. - Able to create reports. - Prioritize and respond to tickets and tasks within expected timeframes and with the appropriate level of detail. - Work closely with client account managers, project managers, and the required internal team to provide analytical support. - Analyze existing procedures to identify system/process changes needed to improve efficiency. - Ensure a high level of quality and delivery according to client, NCQA, and state-defined timelines. - Analyze data, complete proper research into documentation, and proactively suggest solutions either for client correction or as a direction for engineering to research. - Reduce re-work caused due to controllable root causes. - Contribute to client release notes, specification development, and a monthly client newsletter to ensure transparency to our internal and external customers. - Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting. - Complete all duties assigned. - Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree is required; Relevant Master’s Degree is preferred. - Minimum 1-2 years of data analysis experience in the health care industry with a health plan, TPA or vendors of data analytics or claims processing technologies. - A minimum of 3+ years of experience with SQL (TOAD, SQL Tools) and other data tools to analyze diverse data sets. - Proficient in the use of SQL for troubleshooting and data analysis. - Demonstrated experience managing the deliverables of a client(s) dealing with a broad range of services. - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with strong grammar and writing skills. - Excellent computer skills in Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook a must. - Willingness/availability to travel up to ~10% is required. Cognitive/Mental Requirements - Must possess the ability to think logically and process sequentially with a high level of detailed accuracy. - Ability to foster relationships at the appropriate level within the Client organization. - Proven ability to handle stressful situations, multiple tasks, and deadline pressures. - Able to interact easily and appropriately with internal and external individuals with a professional demeanor. - Ability to follow up on outstanding tasks/deliverables. - Communicating with others to exchange information. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions - Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. - Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. - Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance. - Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area. Role Description Recidiviz is thrilled to be hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join our team! We’re a small, fast-moving group that works with complex criminal justice data from our state partners and develops analyses that target the drivers of incarceration in specific systems. This role collaborates across several teams to guide work that targets the drivers of incarceration. Our Data Analysts work with criminal justice data from across the country to develop our understanding of the system and motivate change. They perform analyses, contribute to data tooling, and ensure each product in each state has the analytical foundation required to drive impact. - Roughly half of your time will be spent as a technical lead, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver products for specific state partners. - Work closely with State Engagement and Product Management to assess feasibility, manage delivery, and keep technical teams unblocked and aligned. - The other half of your time is dedicated to hands-on data analysis and individual contributor work. - Travel is encouraged approximately once every 6 months to state partners within the continental USA, and occasionally required.
