Senior Legal Counsel, US
n8n
• Own US commercial contracting • Lead end-to-end negotiation of complex enterprise SaaS agreements, with a special focus on banks and financial services. • Make clear, business-savvy risk trade-offs within agreed guardrails to unblock revenue quickly. • Reduce outside counsel spend and cycle time by providing responsive coverage across US time zones. • Create, localize, and maintain AMER-specific playbooks, fallback positions, and clause libraries. • Partner with legal ops to standardize templates, automate workflows, and scale deal desk processes. • Train GTM teams on positions and escalation paths to drive consistency. • Advise on US privacy/marketing laws (CCPA/CPRA, state patchwork, cookies/lead-gen) and align with SOC 2 buyer expectations. • Counsel Product on AI-powered features, data usage, and state AI guidance; operationalize international data transfer mechanisms. • Coordinate with Security and IT to address customer questionnaires and regulatory riders. • Partner with Sales, CS, RevOps, Finance, and Marketing to streamline quote-to-close and renewals. • Influence deal desk and pricing/packaging motions with practical, data-driven guidance. • Provide strategic commercial counsel on US expansion and regulatory strategy. • Lead support for n8n US Inc. on corporate governance and commercial vendor contracts. • Implement contract tooling and metadata hygiene to enable reporting and insights. • Own continuous improvement of processes in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment.
Job Requirements
- 📄 6–10 years’ PQE in commercial SaaS: You have deep in-house experience closing complex enterprise deals and owning redlines to signature.
- ⚖️ Active US bar membership: You’re licensed and in good standing, able to advise across US jurisdictions.
- 🔐 US privacy & marketing expertise: You navigate CCPA/CPRA and the state patchwork, cookies/lead-gen rules, and understand SOC 2 buyer expectations.
- 🏦 Finserv enterprise negotiations: You’ve closed with banks/finserv, handling security, data protection, AI, and regulatory riders with confidence.
- 🧭 Judgment & communication: You make principled, business-aligned risk calls and communicate them crisply to executives and Sales.
- 🧰 Playbooks & tooling: You’ve built playbooks/clause libraries and implemented contract tooling to scale commercial operations.
- ⏱️ US time zone coverage: You provide responsive support that reduces bottlenecks and outside counsel spend.
- 🏛️ Public sector exposure: You understand US public procurement dynamics and emerging state/federal AI guidance.
- 🛡️ Litigation triage: You can assess and coordinate responses to patent assertions and session replay/wiretap claims.
