Job Description

Business Development Manager, HVAC – West Coast

Gradient

• Identify and pursue sales opportunities within the commercial building sector, focusing on HVAC and building automation systems (BAS). • Provide technical support and product knowledge to clients, explaining the benefits of Gradient's heat pump technology and its integration with building control systems. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with engineers, contractors, and facility managers in the Northeast market. • Collaborate with internal teams to support project execution, including site surveys, proposal development, and technical presentations. • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the Northeast's HVAC controls market. • Assist in building and supporting relationships with channel partners, including system integrators and controls specialists. • Learn and utilize knowledge of Northeast state and utility rebate programs to support sales efforts. • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in our CRM system.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or technical support within the HVAC controls and building automation industry.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems, building automation systems (BAS), and control strategies.
  • Familiarity with integration protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
  • Proficiency in CRM software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or a related technical field
  • Willingness to travel within the Northeast region as needed.
  • An eagerness to learn, and a passion for sustainable technologies.
