Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our legal team with critical administrative and case preparation tasks. In this role, you will assist the pre-suit department by helping gather, organize, and manage essential documents that support ongoing cases. Responsibilities include requesting and obtaining medical records, police reports, open records, and other supporting materials; organizing and compiling case files; and assisting with document redaction and trial preparation. Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM EST Monthly compensation: 1,150 to 1,220 USD Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Providing general support to the pre-suit team and assisting with additional administrative tasks as needed. - Requesting and obtaining medical records for cases - Organizing and compiling medical records and other case documents - Assisting with gathering materials such as police videos and additional evidence - Requesting open records and other supporting materials needed for cases - Supporting the team with case file organization and preparation - Assisting with document redaction when preparing materials for trial - Following up on requested records, which may include making a small number of outbound calls (approximately a few per day) - Assisting the pre-suit department with administrative and case preparation tasks - Requesting police reports and related documentation. They may also assist the appeals team lead with various reports and other projects. - Manage the appeal process for reduced invoices for insurance carriers. - Generate reports using Word, Adobe, & Excel for legal staff to utilize in crafting comments to appeal. - Manage appeal deadlines and follow up with legal staff to ensure deadlines are met. - Utilize various eBilling platforms to submit appeals. - Communicate with timekeepers, billing specialists, and payables team to resolve issues related to reductions. - Knowledge of the eBilling/billing process for insurance clients. - General understanding of insured matter billing and major carrier guidelines. - Ability to problem solve and use resources to resolve complex invoice reductions and assist in preventing similar reductions in the future. Qualifications - 2+ years experience working in a law firm as an Appeals Specialist or Billing professional. - Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Excel, Word & Adobe and ability to create and maintain spreadsheets. - Intermediate to advanced knowledge of eBilling platforms and ability to navigate primary vendor websites for major insurance carriers. - Demonstrate a willingness to research, troubleshoot and respond to billing appeal inquiries. - High level of confidence and professionalism in written and verbal communication internally and externally. - Ability to maintain calm disposition in high stress environment. - Willingness to learn and adapt to changes. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Role Description We’re looking for a skilled Case Manager specializing in Personal Injury and Immigration Law cases to join our team! Qualifications - At least 1 year of experience in a law firm, with a focus on Personal Injury (PI) and Immigration cases. - Strong understanding of U.S. Personal Injury and Immigration legal procedures, and case management. - Background in customer service and sales (highly desirable). - Proficient in verbal and written communication skills in English (C1 or higher). - Excellent prioritization and time-management skills. - Can work independently and handle confidential information with discretion. - Bachelor’s degree in law (preferred). - Permanently resides in Latin America. - Owns a reliable laptop (Windows or Mac, 2017 or newer) with a stable internet connection.
