Role Description The Estimator will provide essential inside technical support, assisting our Outside Sales Engineers in generating estimates for HVAC materials on commercial and industrial projects. - Review Plans and Specifications: Analyze construction plans to generate accurate material quotations from our diverse product lines. - Sales Collaboration: Partner with sales teams to promote and support the sale of HVAC equipment, ensuring exceptional service for customers. - Material Take-Offs: Utilize software to create detailed material take-off lists from construction drawings. - Equipment Selection and Pricing: Accurately select and price equipment based on specifications and manufacturer data. Cross reference material when we are not basis of design. - Quotation Development: Work closely with Sales Engineers to produce strategic quotations and ensure prompt distribution to contractors. - Effective Communication: Maintain clear communication with Sales, factory representatives, and customers to facilitate timely and accurate quotes. - Initial Plan Reviews: Conduct initial reviews of plans and coordinate with appropriate factories for pricing. - Special Discount Requests: Submit approval requests efficiently while managing the bid list. - Manage Workload: Effectively maintain focus in a deadline-driven environment. Qualifications - Education: Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical Engineering), Building Construction degree, or comparable industry experience. - Experience: Minimum of 3 years in commercial HVAC products. - Technical Aptitude: Strong technical knowledge with attention to detail. - Organization and Time Management: Excellent organizational abilities and effective time management skills. - Software Proficiency: Proficient in Windows-based software, with basic math skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities. - Adaptability: Capable of working under pressure, managing multiple tasks, and thriving in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team. Job Requirements
