• Lead the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle: goals & requirements solicitation, design & review, implementation, operationalization & deployment, support & maintenance. • Formulate feature designs, review with stakeholders, iterate to incorporate feedback and drive consensus. • Clearly document design choices and operational knowledge to successfully deploy and manage the software you develop. • Provide appropriate test and production readiness coverage for unit, integration, and performance of your feature ownership area. • Set a high bar for technical excellence and take pride in the software you develop. • Design and build multi-component, distributed systems that operate at scale. • Investigate issues with a methodical approach to identify a root cause. • Understand performance and reliability implications of design options at scale. • Lead the design and development of cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services. • Mentor and guide software engineers, fostering technical excellence. • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. • Architect and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on AWS. • Optimize application performance using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, and S3. • Collaborate with DevOps teams to maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments. • Manage and prioritize tasks for the engineering team, ensuring timely delivery of projects. • Develop and communicate technical strategy aligned with business objectives. • Ensure code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and adherence to standards. • Implement AWS cost optimization strategies and monitor resource utilization. • Maintain compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements in AWS deployments. • Collaborate with product management, QA, and DevOps teams to streamline development and release cycles. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across architecture, performance, and scalability. • Provide technical leadership during incident resolution and root cause analysis. • Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.

• Design and build backend frameworks and services used across the company • Own and evolve critical shared systems, including APIs, realtime transport, and job orchestration • Improve reliability, performance, observability, and security of foundational backend infrastructure • Partner with product teams to turn recurring needs into shared abstractions • Lead technical design discussions and help set architectural direction • Drive refactors, migrations, and system upgrades that reduce long-term complexity • Improve internal tooling to support debugging, operations, and customer-facing workflows • Mentor other engineers and contribute to strong engineering standards and practices
