Role Description BAE's Cyber Security Engineering Team is searching for a Senior Security Engineer to assist in managing the Palo Alto firewall suite within our security team. Responsible for providing appropriate security development and support of tools and its services to enable the GSOC to utilize the state-of-the-art security tools and methods. Linux and Windows administration. Must have strong Palo Alto and Web Filt Admin experience. - Administer Palo Alto firewalls using Panorama including but not limited to, object and rule creation, evaluation of firewall logs, network troubleshooting, and firewall configuration. - A deep understanding of firewall deployment best practice such as, rule order and placement, port versus application based rules and when to deploy them, and rule or log analysis to improve firewall policy performance. - Administer Web filter policies including but not limited to, adding/modifying white lists, setting up and evaluating connection traces, configuration and evaluation of rule traces, and other activities required for day-to-day support and incident troubleshooting. - Provide security application support, including the development of automated scripts and protocols for seamless application-server interaction. - Develop documentation as required (such as installation and Visio network and cabling diagrams, configuration guides, user tutorials, user and system requirements specification documentation, use cases, traceability matrices). - Research, prototype and implement new security related technology solutions. - Provide back up support to other engineers with enterprise tools. As the Director of Off-Board & Infrastructure Cybersecurity, you are a key executive leader within the Vehicle and Connected Cybersecurity (VCC) organization. You are responsible for the security, resilience, and digital integrity of the entire ecosystem that supports the vehicle outside of its physical chassis. You are responsible for securing the "always-on" relationship between Ford and its customers, ensuring that every digital interaction—from a mobile app command to a high-speed Over-the-Air (OTA) update—is authenticated, encrypted, and resilient. You will lead a global organization of senior leaders and engineers across critical security pillars. Your mission is to move security from a defensive "gatekeeper" to a competitive advantage that builds customer trust and enables rapid innovation across the global Ford Product Portfolio. - Application Security (DevSecOps): Implementing an Enterprise ASPM framework, driving "Shift Left" security integration (SAST, DAST, SCA) into developer workflows, and managing the security of the software supply chain, including Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) for off-board services. - API Security & Ecosystem Integrity: Protecting "North-South" and "East-West" traffic, establishing API governance, securing multi-cloud infrastructure for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) and OTA updates, directing Zero Trust Architecture strategies, and overseeing modern identity protocols like OAuth2, OIDC, and FIDO. - Vehicle KMS/PKI (Key Management & Digital Trust): Directing Ford’s Vehicle PKI strategy, managing cryptographic lifecycles with KMS and HSMs, and leading the transition to quantum-resistant cryptographic standards. - EV Charging & Energy Infrastructure Security: Securing the end-to-end charging value chain (BlueOval Charge Network, home charging, commercial depots), implementing "Plug & Charge" (ISO 15118), and partnering with external entities for Critical Infrastructure Protection (V2G, bi-directional power flow). - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Engineering (Master’s or PhD highly preferred). - Experience: 15+ years in Cybersecurity or Software Engineering, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role within a global Fortune 100 enterprise. - Technical Depth: Proven track record of managing large-scale PKI deployments, securing cloud-native microservices, and implementing enterprise-grade IAM and DevSecOps programs. - Executive Presence: Exceptional ability to translate deeply technical cryptographic and infrastructure risks into business-impact narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
