Vitacca Ballet & School for Dance is a renowned performing arts training academy located in the heart of Houston, Texas, dedicated to providing structured dance education and performance opportunities to students of all ages and skill levels. We aim to nurture technical skills, artistic development, and stage performance experience across various dance disciplines such as ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, and modern. Our students engage in a curriculum that includes regular classes, rehearsals, workshops, and seasonal performances. We also support live dance productions through our affiliated performing company, Vitacca Ballet, which showcases contemporary ballet works and community performances. As we continue to expand our programs and enhance our community impact, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operational processes, supporting our instructors and students, and maintaining the structured environment essential for our dance education programs. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the arts and a commitment to fostering a positive and organized atmosphere within our academy. Responsibilities - Manage day-to-day administrative operations, including scheduling and communication. - Assist in the coordination of class schedules and student registrations. - Maintain accurate records of attendance, performances, and student progress. - Provide support for faculty, staff, and students with inquiries regarding programs and services. - Organize and assist in planning special events, performances, and workshops. - Handle correspondence and communication with parents, students, and external partners. - Manage office supplies and inventory to ensure a well-equipped environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in arts administration or related field is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other office management software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and handle diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for the performing arts and understanding of dance education is preferred.
  • Previous experience in administrative roles, preferably in a arts or educational setting.
