Role Description Texas A&M University–Texarkana invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Educational Leadership. The successful candidate will serve as core faculty in the Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership. This position supports doctoral teaching, mentorship, and applied research within a Doctorate of Practice model. The EdD emphasizes systematic inquiry, evidence-based leadership, and organizational improvement across various educational contexts. The program is delivered fully online and includes required synchronous engagement on designated evenings. The standard teaching load is 3/3. Faculty are expected to maintain an active research agenda with peer-reviewed scholarship consistent with tenure and promotion guidelines and aligned with the university’s research priorities. The position includes doctoral mentorship, service to the division and university, and participation in continuous program development. Although remote work is authorized for this position, applicants must be able to periodically attend meetings and other initiatives on campus with prior notice. Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required at the time of hire. No pre-employment sponsorship is authorized for this position. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Teach doctoral-level courses in Educational Leadership within a fully online EdD program, including required synchronous engagement on designated evenings - Design and deliver instruction that integrates applied research, organizational improvement, and evidence-based leadership practices - Serve on doctoral dissertation committees upon appointment; chair Dissertation of Practice projects following appropriate onboarding - Mentor doctoral students through the development, implementation, and dissemination of applied research addressing problems of practice - Maintain an active and productive research agenda resulting in peer-reviewed publications consistent with tenure and promotion expectations - Present scholarly work at regional, national, or international professional conferences - Pursue external funding and grant development opportunities, as appropriate - Contribute to program assessment, curriculum refinement, and continuous improvement efforts within the EdD program - Support doctoral student recruitment, retention, and completion initiatives - Engage in service to the division, university, and profession, including participation in accreditation and institutional effectiveness activities - Comply with university policies and institutional standards for graduate education Qualifications - Earned PhD or EdD in Educational Leadership or a closely related field from an accredited institution - Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed scholarly publications appropriate to rank - Potential for active research agenda in educational leadership or related areas - Demonstrated strong evidence of teaching potential - Professional experience in educational leadership, administration, or organizational leadership within educational contexts - Ability to attend meetings and participate in other initiatives on campus with prior notice Requirements - Assistant Professor Rank: Meet all the minimum requirements listed as Assistant Professor Rank - A minimum of 5 years of service at the rank of Assistant Professor (for Associate Professor Rank) - Evidence of an active research agenda in educational leadership or related areas (for Associate Professor Rank) - Demonstrated effectiveness in graduate-level teaching (for Associate Professor Rank) Preferred Qualifications - Experience serving on or chairing doctoral dissertation committees - Record of peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals and evidence of ongoing scholarly productivity - Experience teaching graduate-level research methods courses and mentoring doctoral students through the design and implementation of applied research or Dissertation of Practice projects - Evidence of or potential for securing external funding and engaging in grant development - Experience teaching in fully online graduate programs - Experience contributing to program development, accreditation, or institutional effectiveness initiatives Supervision of Personnel This position generally does not supervise employees. This position will provide coverage in short-term, surge and on demand situations resulting from the Military needs such as a post-deployment event or to cover an existing assignment for counselors who are absent. Primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. Services include education and counseling addressing financial services that may include, but are not limited to, one-on-one counseling, consultation with a commander or with another provider or staff, conducting briefings and presentations, or providing referral resources to a participant outside the context of a counseling session.
