THE OPPORTUNITY This Software Engineer, Mobile Applications position can work out remotely within the U.S. The Software Engineer, Mobile Applications will transform well‑defined designs into secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects. This role is part of a talented team of software engineers responsible for building key components of the next generation of Abbott’s flagship Libre diabetes management system. We are looking for a candidate who brings a strong passion for software engineering and a commitment to continuous learning. The ideal engineer will contribute hands‑on technical expertise within agile Scrum teams, developing high‑quality mobile applications using React Native. They will play an essential role in ensuring our mobile solutions are reliable, scalable, and aligned with modern engineering best practices. What You'll Do - Write modular, maintainable, well-tested, and documented code within a large-scale regulated hybrid mobile application. - Design, develop, and maintain reusable components and services that can be shared between multiple code bases. - Design and implement unit testable, maintainable code and troubleshoot integration issues with internal app teams. - Collaborate with internal and external partners to integrate medical devices and systems through APIs, ensuring high quality technical interoperability. - Craft UI components that take globalization/localization into account and can grow and scale appropriately. - Work to resolve the root cause of complex problems, leaving software better and easier to maintain than when you found it. - Engage in technical planning, design, estimation, and code reviews, including peer review of pull requests. - Stay up to date with current best practices, standards, and open-source frameworks, making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate. Role Summary The Director of Finance Software Engineering leads the design, delivery, and modernization of enterprise finance platforms supporting Order-to-Cash (O2C), Revenue Recognition, PTP and core Finance operations. This role partners closely with the CFO office, Finance Operations, and IT leadership to drive multi-year digital transformation initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance (SOX, ASC 606, ASC 842), and enable scalable, audit-ready financial systems. The role is accountable for global delivery, people leadership, vendor governance, and technology strategy across ERP and revenue platforms, with a strong focus on automation, data integrity, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Finance Technology Strategy & Transformation - Own end-to-end finance systems strategy across O2C, Revenue Accounting, Source-to-Pay, Project Accounting, Asset Accounting, and Lease Accounting. - Define and execute multi-year finance modernization roadmaps aligned to CFO and enterprise objectives. - Lead large-scale ERP and revenue platform transformations, including D365 or SAP S/4HANA  - Drive adoption of standardized finance operating models, automation, and data governance frameworks. Engineering Delivery & Transformation - Lead and scale a global organization of 50+ engineers and managers, including managers-of-managers, across multiple regions. - Establish strong engineering execution, release governance, and delivery excellence across internal teams and system integrators. - Ensure all solutions are SOX-compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with internal control standards. - Oversee complex multi-vendor ecosystems, including SIs and platform partners.
