Accounting Fixed Assets Manager

Overview The Accounting Fixed Assets Manager oversees the reporting and analysis of financial data related to the company’s fixed asset portfolio. The manager reviews, updates, and implements fixed asset policies and procedures while providing training and guidance to business partners. Serving as the primary contact for the Fixed Asset Accounting team, this role offers accounting support and ensures compliance with company standards. They also drive process improvements and support audits and month‑end close activities. Pay Range: What We Offer: - Tuition Waiver: Enjoy a tuition waiver after 6 months of employment for you AND your immediate family offered at UTI and Concorde campuses - Paid Time Off: Competitive paid time off programs for employees (Vacation, Sick, Flexible) - Retirement Matching: 50% match on the first 6% of your contributions after 90 days - Paid Parental Leave: 4 weeks of paid leave for both birthing and non-birthing parents to bond with a new baby - Competitive Insurance: Health, vision, and dental coverage for you and your dependents - Pet Insurance: Competitive coverage for your furry family members through ASPCA - Health Plan Enrollment: Eligibility starts first of the month following completing one full month of employment Responsibilities - Oversee timely and accurate reporting of fixed asset activity, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards - Deliver monthly and quarterly fixed asset schedules, analytics, and variance explanations - Ensure all asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation are accurately recorded in the fixed asset subledger - Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations to maintain integrity of the general ledger - Review, maintain, and implement fixed asset accounting policies and procedures - Maintain adherence to internal controls and alignment with regulatory and audit requirements - Serve as the primary point of contact for the Fixed Asset Accounting team, offering accounting guidance and resolving complex fixed asset issues - Provide training, guidance, and subject‑matter expertise to business partners involved in capital project management, procurement, and asset tracking to support accurate and compliant asset handling - Support month‑end close activities, internal/external audits, and continuous process improvements - Develop and maintain project management tracking tools and documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and relevant project artifacts - Facilitate meetings, project planning, and solutioning meetings - Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education / Experience - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required) - Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on fixed asset accounting, capital project accounting, or corporate accounting (required) - Experience with fixed asset subledger systems and strong general ledger knowledge - Knowledge base should include developing or implementing accounting policies, process improvements, and internal controls Skills - Independently manage complex tasks and projects - Analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions - Present ideas in a compelling and structured format to diverse audiences - Demonstrate refined listening skills and emotional intelligence - Drive consistent results in a fast-paced environment - Leverage enterprise-level tools and systems to streamline processes - Work independently, escalating complex or high-impact issues - Drive innovation to improve organizational success - Navigate complex organizational dynamics with confidence - Perform effectively amid uncertainty and ambiguity Abilities - Able and willing to: - Communicate, think, learn, and reason - Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks - Safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locations - Demonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering and category flexibility - Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills - Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are worked simultaneously - Ability to gain, understand and apply information and data as it relates essential functions of the position - Ability to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders - Ability to interpret complex fixed asset data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies with accuracy and attention to detail - Ability to apply GAAP principles to fixed asset transactions and capital project activities - Ability to navigate, troubleshoot, and optimize fixed asset subledger and ERP processes - Ability to develop and document policies and procedures, ensuring consistency, compliance and strong internal controls Work Environment - Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises. - This position is designated as Remote.
