Job Description

Director – Coding and CDI Application Solutions

CorroHealth

• Develop and implement CDI strategies, policies, and workflows to optimize documentation processes and improve clinical outcomes and data integrity. • Grow the business and define the market strategy. • Oversee a team of CDI professionals and ensure high-quality service delivery supporting multiple clients and systems. • Support client relationships, performance reporting, and the growth of CDI service lines. • Provide support and management of CDI Services including resource allocation, audits and readiness assessments for new program startups and existing program process improvement efforts. • Analyze findings and identify potential root causes of produced errors and identify areas of improvement. • Prepare summary reports of findings to clients, supplying specific references supporting findings contained within the provided audit report. • Serve as Engagement Lead or Primary Project Leader for new or existing program through all phases of engagement.

Job Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist.
  • Requires leadership and client management experience.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s (preferably BSN) degree in a relevant field; or an Associate of Science Nursing (ASN) degree and two (2) years of relevant clinical work experience in an acute care inpatient setting can substitute for a required degree.
  • Requires Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) certification within one (1) year along with the maintaining of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) thereafter.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarization with HIM electronic tools such as encoders, groupers, CDI software and EMR platforms.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and written.
