Role Description General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an CAD Specialist, proficient in CREO and knowledgeable of PDMLink data management software. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. - Develops and applies computer aided design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems. - Defines and selects new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering applications and design specifications and parameters. - Performs detailed design and testing of electrical or mechanical components or subsystems. - Optimizes tasks and resources in support of projects, while promoting process and policy compliance. - Increases understanding of process applications within the domain of expertise. - Supports proposals as assigned. - Applies technical concepts to specific tasks. - Creates mechanical designs that meet relevant functional requirements. - Provides strong technical contributions as an individual designer or as part of a development team. - Interfaces and collaborates with employees, managers, engineering, program management, external vendors, and customers. - Specifies materials, equipment, and supplies required for project completion and evaluates vendor capabilities. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
