Senior Data Protection Engineer
reDesign
• Implement and deploy enterprise backup, data protection, and disaster recovery solutions within customer environments. • Deliver end-to-end implementations including installation, configuration, migration, and optimization of backup and recovery platforms. • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Engineering, and Project Management teams to bring architected solutions into production. • Support customer data protection strategies including backup architecture, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery planning. • Troubleshoot and optimize existing backup environments across Redesign’s installed customer base. • Assess customer environments and recommend improvements for data protection, resiliency, and operational efficiency. • Deliver technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational handoff to customer IT teams. • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and capacity planning discussions. • Maintain awareness of evolving backup, storage, and data protection technologies and recommend improvements aligned to customer needs. • Partner with technology vendors and internal teams to deliver successful implementations across enterprise environments.
Job Requirements
- 7–12 years of experience within an MSP, VAR, enterprise IT, NOC, or service provider environment.
- Strong hands-on experience implementing enterprise backup and data protection platforms.
- Experience delivering customer-facing infrastructure implementations across complex data center environments.
- Demonstrated experience designing or implementing disaster recovery and high availability architectures.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple technical engagements and travel-based implementations.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills within backup, storage, and virtualization environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical teams and customer stakeholders.
