Role Description Turno has a growing set of foundational engineering work that no one explicitly owns today: runtime upgrades, dependency management, observability for async workloads, test confidence, integration patterns, and application architecture. This work affects every team, but it competes invisibly with feature delivery and rarely gets sustained attention. We need someone to own it. This role sits on the Platform Services team, which builds shared infrastructure for Turno’s engineering org: queues, workers, cache, auth, event-driven pipelines, and internal tooling, all on TypeScript (Hono, Bun) and GCP (GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run). You’ll split your time between improving the PHP monolith’s foundations and building new platform services in TypeScript. You need to be comfortable in both worlds. Some weeks you’ll be refactoring Laravel service providers and adding Sentry breadcrumbs to queue jobs. Other weeks you’ll be designing Pub/Sub pipelines and writing Hono services. The common thread is that your work removes friction for other engineers and makes the whole system more reliable. Responsibilities - Foundational System Health - Own the PHP runtime and dependency lifecycle: track EOL dates, run upgrades (we need to get to PHP 8.4+), set up Dependabot, and keep things from drifting into emergency-upgrade territory. - Make changes less scary by improving test coverage systematically, wiring up automation, and figuring out where AI-assisted tooling can help. - Build observability for the things that break quietly: cronjobs, queue workers, background processing. Sentry breadcrumbs, structured logging, dashboards. - Standardize how we talk to external services, fixing scattered Guzzle calls with no shared auth model. - Push the monolith toward better architecture: clearer domain boundaries, event-driven flows, formalized contracts between modules. - Speed up the app where it matters: refactor kernel loading, reduce unnecessary DB hits on hot paths, add caching where it makes sense. - Work with QA to make on-demand environments actually reliable and usable. - Platform Services - Build shared TypeScript services and SDKs (Hono, Bun) that other teams consume for queues, workers, cache, and auth. - Design and run event-driven pipelines on GCP Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, and Kubernetes (GKE). - Create and maintain software templates and scaffolding in Backstage so teams can spin up new services without reinventing patterns. - Wire in reliability patterns: idempotency, retry/backoff, DLQ handling, rate limiting. - Define internal APIs and service contracts that work cleanly across the PHP and TypeScript stacks. - Contribute to CI/CD, GitOps (ArgoCD), and deployment automation. - Cross-Team Work - Join architecture reviews and have opinions about how things should be built. - Reduce drift between services: align frameworks, library versions, and patterns so maintenance doesn’t scale linearly with the number of repos. - Review code, write design docs, and help when things break. - Mentor other engineers, especially on platform patterns and reliability practices. Qualifications - 6+ years of backend engineering, with real depth in both PHP and TypeScript/Node.js. - Familiarity with Laravel internals: service providers, queues, console kernel, testing infrastructure. - Hands-on experience with GCP (GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL) or the AWS/Azure equivalents. - Experience building or operating event-driven systems with message queues and understanding the failure modes. - Comfortable with Kubernetes and containerized workloads, with experience in CI/CD pipelines in production. - Experience with cross-cutting technical work that touches many teams and requires building consensus. - Understanding of observability (structured logging, tracing, Sentry) and opinions about what to measure. - Solid with SQL/PostgreSQL and schema design. - Strong English communication, written and verbal. Requirements - Experience with Hono, Bun, or other modern TypeScript server frameworks. - Familiarity with Backstage, ArgoCD, or similar developer portal / GitOps tooling. - Knowledge of Protobuf, OpenAPI, or schema-first API design. - Background in DDD or domain modeling. - Experience with Dependabot, Renovate, or similar dependency automation. - Experience building internal platforms, shared SDKs, or developer tooling. Benefits - This is a full-time contract role based in Brazil (fully remote) or Argentina (hybrid from our Buenos Aires office). - Strong written and verbal skills are required as we communicate primarily in English. - Work hours are flexible but require consistent availability from 10 AM–3 PM local time. - Offers up to 15 days of annual PTO plus paid local public holidays, subject to company discretion.

Role Description We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who views a product as a system, not just a set of features. You will lead end-to-end discovery and delivery for Turno’s core marketplace and SaaS offerings. This isn’t a role for someone who just wants to move tickets through Jira. We need a “Full-Stack PM”: someone who can query their own data, talk to a cleaner in London and a host in Miami in the same morning, collaborate with engineers to design agentic AI workflows that solve complex operational failures before they happen, and still has the range to build a crisp business case and go-to-market monetization plan so the initiative pays for itself. Key Responsibilities - Product Strategy, Discovery & Execution: - Own the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and execution for a critical segment of the Turno platform, moving from ambiguous user pain points to scalable, high-margin solutions. - Conduct continuous discovery with all sides of our marketplace, partners, and internal teams; synthesize insights into clear product hypotheses. - Build the business case and market strategy for key initiatives (pricing, adoption plan, unit economics, and measurable ROI) to ensure we can monetize what we ship. - Design for the "edge case" as if it’s the "happy path"; define operationally executable workflows to handle substitutions, late arrivals, and payment disputes with the same rigor as our primary flow. - Partner daily with Engineering and Design to define solutions, prioritize effectively, and ship high-quality releases. - Bridge the gap between digital code and physical operations. Partner with Ops and Finance to ensure that every product feature is commercially viable and operationally sound. - Drive alignment through clear communication and structured decision-making across stakeholders and leadership. - Technical & AI Leadership: - Self-serve analytics: be your own best analyst. Write SQL to validate hypotheses and build Looker dashboards to track the health of your product area. - API-first mindset: collaborate with engineering on platform architecture, ensuring our integrations with partners (Airbnb, PMS, etc.) are robust and scalable. - Design and ship AI-enabled experiences that aren't just chatbots, but proactive agents that handle scheduling conflicts and quality audits. Qualifications - Strong product instincts grounded in real user understanding; naturally curious and driven to ask “why” until the root problem is clear. - Track record of building products that interact with the real world (e-commerce, last-mile delivery, or fintech). - Comfortable with APIs and SQL, with a strong grasp of system and data flows; able to quickly “vibe code” AI-assisted prototypes to validate ideas and integrations before engineering handoff. - Experience building and shipping AI-powered features (e.g., chat, copilots, agentic workflows); able to design AI-native experiences, define and measure quality (accuracy, hallucination rate, latency, task success), and make informed ship/no-ship tradeoffs; hands-on experience with tools such as n8n, LangSmith, and Langflow required. - Strong analytical skills and experience defining KPIs, building instrumentation, and using data and BI tools to make decisions. - Ability to distill complex technical or operational constraints into a simple, persuasive narrative for stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Internationalization (i18n) and scaling products across multiple currencies and languages. - Direct experience in the PropTech or TravelTech sectors. - A background that blends Engineering/CS with Business (MBA or startup founder experience) is a plus.
