Role Description We are looking for a Product Assurance & Safety (PA&S) Engineer to ensure mission reliability, regulatory compliance, and safety throughout development and production cycles. The role involves establishing and maintaining PA and safety requirements in line with ECSS, EN9100, and relevant international standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, compliance, and safety of our products throughout the full development and production lifecycle. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, the candidate will drive quality standards, support risk and hazard management activities, and ensure all processes and deliverables conform to applicable institutional and regulatory frameworks. Location Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area) Start date At the earliest Tasks and Responsibilities - Establish and maintain the PA requirements baseline; prepare project-specific PA documentation in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., ECSS, EN9100, MIL) - Ensure compliance of materials, EEE components, M&P processes and supplier deliverables with applicable PA requirements - Organise, prepare, and facilitate control board meetings (Parts, Radiation, Material and Process Control Boards) - Review customer and supplier documentation and perform independent PA assessments - Contribute to technical and managerial project reviews (PDR, CDR, QR, CCNs) - Oversee control of MAIT processes in cleanroom and laboratory environments, including routine inspections of flight hardware - Manage non-conformities (NCR/SRR), waivers, deviations, and support risk management processes - Participate in internal and supplier audits, in line with industry practices implemented by ESA and other stakeholders - Participate in Safety Review Boards with ESA, NASA, and other agencies - Define and maintain Safety requirements baseline for assigned projects - Perform safety analyses and develop Safety Data Packages, Safety Certificates, Hazard Analyses, FMECA, and Maintenance Safety Assessments in compliance with ECSS, ISS and other international standards - Provide safety input to design teams, ensuring compliance with safety-critical engineering best practices - Ensure timely closure Qualifications - Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related technical discipline - 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a Product Assurance, Quality, or Systems Engineering role, preferably within the space, defense, or aerospace industry - Knowledge of ECS, MIL, ISO 9001, and EN9100 standards frameworks - Experience with EEE components, Materials & Processes, configuration management, and cleanroom practices - Understanding system-level safety engineering, including hazard identification, mitigation, and verification Benefits - Working within an exceptional sector with staff located in Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands - A professional and modern working environment with motivated Administrative Staff, Engineers, Astronaut Training Instructors, and Scientists from diverse backgrounds with a common passion for space - A full-time position with an indefinite contract of employment - A competitive remuneration package and good working conditions - Working from home in part can be a possibility - Individualised training and development programmes

The Digital Communication Officer will focus on the implementation and day-to-day management of digital communication activities. Role Description We are looking for an experienced IT System Administrator to manage and maintain our company's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, networks, and servers. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate will join the System Administration (SysAdmin) Team (comprised of 3 persons) and will mainly report to the SysAdmin Team Lead. Role Description Working within the Technology, Applications and Research Division, we are expanding the Virtual Environment & Human–Machine Interface (VEHMI) Team to support the growing demand for immersive technologies, digital twins, advanced user interfaces and haptic interaction systems. The successful candidate will contribute to ESA, EC and internal projects developing next‑generation interfaces for mission operations (rovers, on-orbit servicing), astronaut training, robotic teleoperation, and simulation environments. This role addresses the increasing need for high‑fidelity virtual / augmented / extended reality environments and advanced teleoperation systems enabling safer, more intuitive and more efficient interaction between humans and complex space systems. Tasks and Responsibilities - Design and implement VR/AR/XR solutions (including modelling, simulation and rendering) for space rated application and missions. - SW human–machine interfaces (HMI) including GUIs, visualization components, dashboards, and user‑interaction logic. - Interface robotics devices (haptic force‑feedback interfaces, wearable haptics, astronaut exercises systems) with real‑time simulators and immersive environment. - Perform thorough testing and validation of implemented improvements and iterate on the design to achieve optimal results. - Collaborate with systems, robotics, and ground‑segment engineers to ensure seamless integration of virtual environments into existing mission tools. - Produce technical documentation and contribution to project reviews. - Support business development and proposal writing for future VR/XR/HMI‑related opportunities. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in VR/AR/XR development, HMI systems, simulation environments or real‑time graphics. - Proficiency with VR engines (Unity, Unreal), real‑time rendering and 3D scene integration. - Experience integrating haptic devices, teleoperation interfaces, or human‑in‑the‑loop systems. - Development of applications with VR, AR or MR Headsets (e.g. Meta Quest, HTC Vive, Valve Index, Others). - Programming languages (e.g. C/C++, C#, Blueprints), Communication interfaces (e.g TCP/IP, HTTP, UDP, CAN). - Experience with GUI frameworks and front‑end technologies (e.g., Qt, React, custom mission tools). - Understanding of robotics interfaces, digital twin architectures and mission‑operations. - Knowledge of real‑time physics simulation, game‑engine plugin development or scientific visualisation. - Ability to work in an international team, organise tasks and meet deadlines. - Strength to self-discipline and work ethic. - Excellent written and spoken English.
