IT Infrastructure Engineer

Role Description We are looking for an experienced IT System Administrator to manage and maintain our company's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, networks, and servers. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate will join the System Administration (SysAdmin) Team (comprised of 3 persons) and will mainly report to the SysAdmin Team Lead. Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area) Start date: At the earliest Tasks and Responsibilities - Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, software applications and networks - Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise - Implement security measures to protect company data and systems from cyber threats - Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures - Manage authentication and access control systems - Act as Level 2 technical support for the IT Helpdesk - Collaborate with other teams and departments to implement new technologies and improve existing systems - Document processes, procedures, and system configurations Qualifications - A degree in Computer Science (or relevant experience) - At least 5 years of hands-on experience - Excellent knowledge and experience as a User and Administrator of Linux and Windows desktop and server OSes Requirements - Knowledge of: - Virtualisation, Containerization - Web hosting - Email - DNS - Storage technologies - Networking – IP, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networking - Hands-on experience in IT security systems such as: - Network security (e.g. Traffic and log monitoring, Firewalls, Intrusion detection & prevention system) - VPN - Active Directory, PKI, MFA - Excellent scripting skills (bash, python) - Strength to cope with schedules and deadlines - Good written and spoken English Benefits - Working within an exceptional sector with Staff located in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands - A professional and modern working environment with motivated Administrative Staff, Engineers, Astronaut Training Instructors and Scientists coming from all different horizons and countries with a common passion for space and their own expertise - A full-time position with an indefinite contract of employment - A competitive remuneration package and good working conditions - Working from home in part can be a possibility - An individualised training and development programmes

Role Description At AIS, we are seeking a talented individual to join as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. This role will support the unique needs of our client as an Azure Engineer III - Cloud Infrastructure & Kubernetes. - Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure solutions including compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, and security services. - Build, configure, and support Kubernetes infrastructure in Azure, primarily using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). - Engineer and maintain foundational Azure services including: - Virtual Networks and subnet design - Network security groups and routing - Private endpoints and service connectivity - Load balancers and application gateways - Azure DNS and hybrid connectivity - Storage accounts and key management services - Deploy and manage AKS clusters, node pools, ingress, networking, scaling, upgrades, and cluster security configurations. - Support container platform operations including: - Cluster provisioning - Workload scheduling and scaling - Logging and monitoring - Backup and recovery considerations - Policy enforcement and namespace management - Implement infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates. - Develop and maintain CI/CD integration points for infrastructure and platform deployment pipelines. - Collaborate with application teams to support container onboarding, platform requirements, and production readiness. - Implement and support Azure governance controls including policy, role-based access control, tagging, and subscription/resource organization. - Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and platform issues across Azure and Kubernetes environments. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5–8 years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experience. - 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience. - 2+ years of experience deploying and administering Kubernetes infrastructure in production or enterprise environments. - Strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or equivalent Kubernetes platforms. - Experience designing and supporting core Azure services including networking, identity, compute, and storage. - Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM. - Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash, or Python. - Experience troubleshooting distributed systems, platform infrastructure, and cloud deployments. Requirements - Experience with Azure landing zones, Hub-and-Spoke networking, Hybrid connectivity, Azure Firewall / Application Gateway / WAF, Private Link / Private DNS, and Managed Identities and Key Vault. - Familiarity with container ecosystem tools such as Helm, Kubernetes RBAC, Ingress Controllers, Container Registries, Service mesh concepts, and policy engines and admission control. - Knowledge of DevOps and platform engineering practices, including Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience in regulated environments such as government, defense, healthcare, or financial services. - Familiarity with high-availability, disaster recovery, and production support practices. - Relevant Azure Certifications, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), and/or Terraform Associate Certification. The targeted base salary range for this role is $102,000-$154,000 per year.
