The Senior Associate, Programs will be supporting SecondMuse’s Community Management Workstream within the NASA Space Apps Challenge. The NASA Space Apps Challenge is an international hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists, and others in cities around the world, where teams engage NASA's free and open data to address real-world problems on Earth and in space. For one weekend each October, participants from around the world come together over 2 days to solve challenges submitted by NASA personnel. After the hackathon, project submissions are judged by space agency experts, and winners are selected for one of 10 Global Awards. The Senior Associate, Programs will support open innovation communities by engaging members and facilitating external trainings/workshops. This role will work with a global community of over 400 key stakeholders as well as support other workstreams of the program, including but not limited to program design, communication, judging process, and the Winners Celebration. Work Environment This role is full-time, 40 hours a week, remote, and requires working from home. The NASA Space Apps Team is fully remote with 3/4 of its members and client headquarters located on the East Coast of the United States. Our Commitment to Pay Equity: This role offers an annual base salary of $70,000 and a comprehensive benefits package. Role Description We are looking for a Software Engineer to help build and expand the platform. This role will develop new modules, strengthen existing functionality, ensure integration with our business systems (Unanet, HubSpot, Asana, Google Workspace, Supabase), and embed practical AI-assisted workflows that help teams complete operational tasks faster and with greater accuracy. This role is ideal for a full-stack developer who is energized by building and maintaining tools that directly improve how a mission-driven organization operates, and who sees AI as a practical tool for solving real workflow problems. SecondMuse supports continuous learning. Team members are encouraged to experiment with new tools, develop new technical skills, and improve systems that strengthen our mission-driven work. • Build and contribute to the Proposal Platform (~50%) • Write and support proposals alongside growth and program teams to deeply understand what the platform must deliver • Translate complex program designs, methodologies, and impact evidence into clear, persuasive narratives aligned with client evaluation criteria • Edit and refine AI-generated content for clarity, tone, and narrative strength • Use every proposal cycle as structured research: identify what worked, what broke, and what the platform needs next • Manage and contribute to the product roadmap for SecondMuse's AI-enabled proposal system, including scoping and budgeting capabilities using SecondMuse budget frameworks • Design evaluation frameworks to systematically measure AI output quality with versioned, testable criteria • Analyze competitive intelligence sources to reverse-engineer what evaluators reward • Document and continuously refine SecondMuse's proposal development workflow • Support growth leads in structuring proposal narratives and win themes

• Closing new climate revenue (mix of corporate, philanthropic, and public-sector contracts). • Writing client proposals in collaboration with the Head of Climate, Delivery Teams, and other contributors across SecondMuse. • Developing and implementing the Climate portfolio’s BD strategy and client stewardship plans, and managing client accounts at SecondMuse. • Generating and actively managing a qualified pipeline in HubSpot. • Represent SecondMuse externally at forums and conferences. • Partner with Delivery teams, Marketing, and Finance to align offerings, pricing, and revenue projections. • Cultivating relationships – deepening ties with government agencies, climate-focused foundations, and Fortune-500 sustainability leads. • Sourcing & closing deals – developing opportunities, finding RFPs, designing projects, crafting proposals, negotiating terms, and closing. • Representing SecondMuse – speaking at industry events; publishing thought pieces that drive inbound inquiries. • Running the engine – maintaining CRM hygiene, forecasting accurately, and using Gen-AI tools to accelerate prospecting and writing. • Managing accounts and stewarding clients – building and implementing Client Stewardship plans that extend and expand existing projects, and identify new opportunities.
