Runway

• Own the full API lifecycle from design and implementation to monitoring, optimization, and documentation for both public and internal APIs • Design and implement async workflows for task orchestration, content moderation, prompt enhancement, and post-processing pipelines • Optimize database queries and improve performance for a high-traffic Postgres database • Build rate limiting, fraud detection, and credit management systems • Implement comprehensive API security, rate limiting, authentication, and monitoring systems to ensure reliability at scale • Improve the public API developer experience with better documentation, SDKs, and tooling • Improve the performance, reliability, and code quality of our codebases

• Design multimodal, multitask datasets that teach world models new capabilities — deciding what data to collect, generate, or curate and measuring its effect on model behavior • Run controlled training experiments to understand how data composition drives model performance across tasks and domains • Build and operate large-scale pipelines for synthetic data generation, filtering, and quality control • Define evaluations and benchmarks that measure whether our models are actually improving at the things that matter • Partner with product and creative teams to translate target behaviors and capabilities into concrete data strategies

• Lead design projects, including new features and improvements to our mobile and web platforms • Produce, iterate, and prototype concepts for creative workflows • Collaborate closely with the engineering, and product teams to suggest product and process improvements • Contribute to maintaining visual and user experience consistency across our products

• Work alongside our research team to define new AI applications that solve customer needs and drive business value • Collaborate closely with engineering and design to productize research and continuously improve existing tools • Define and analyze metrics, talk with users weekly, and conduct A/B tests to discover use cases, validate pain points, and prioritize features

• Manage and grow Runway’s Applied ML Research team • Create cutting-edge machine learning tools for AI-based content creation • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to transition research into production • Initiate and develop research projects that deliver clear user value

• Own deep, trusted C-suite level relationships with Runway's most strategic partners • Collaborate directly with world-class creative teams at Hollywood studios, brands, and F100 companies • Operate as a strategic thought partner internally • Get embedded within accounts to learn and understand their content pain points • Identify and prototype specific and highly targeted new markets and opportunities for products • Develop a deep, functional and technical understanding of products and future roadmap • Be hands-on in onboarding new partners to the platform and support their long-term expansion • Provide high-impact feedback to Product, Engineering, and Creative • Analyze, track, and report on the performance of existing partnerships

• Drive platform strategy and architecture for our TypeScript-based API infrastructure • Own the public API domain end-to-end • Manage our data and analytics infrastructure • Lead and grow a team of 4-6 platform engineers • Partner with Product Engineering teams to unblock new feature launches • Own critical data pipelines and metrics that power business decisions • Work cross-functionally with leadership to set priorities

• Help world models train faster and run more efficiently. • Profile, optimize, and rearchitect systems that turn research ideas into models that run at scale and in real time. • Optimize training throughput across large GPU clusters. • Design and maintain distributed training infrastructure. • Profile and accelerate inference pipelines for real-time multimodal generation. • Optimize and scale training infrastructure to improve efficiency and reliability. • Contribute to the entire stack, from low-level kernel optimizations to high-level model design.

• Own and maintain Runway's content policies, balancing user safety, creative expression, and operational feasibility • Translate policies into LLM prompts and continuously iterate to drive accuracy improvements • Track shifts in cultural and market norms and new use cases, and continuously evaluate and update policies accordingly • Build frameworks for ongoing policy review, ensuring policy remains nimble, accurate, and appropriate for Runway’s user base • Serve as the policy subject matter expert for key internal partners, particularly our enterprise enablement team • Translate Runway’s policies into clear documentation for internal teams, enterprise and API partners, and end users • As part of a small, collaborative T&S team, contribute to work across the broader team as priorities and needs evolve

• Lead safety assessments and threat modeling for new products, with a particular focus on completely new areas for the business • Design and document safety mitigations for novel product risks, and partner with engineering to implement them • Lead comprehensive red teaming efforts for new products and existing products • Serve as the dedicated safety point of contact for new products—attending planning and design sessions, raising risks early, and owning updates to safety assessments as product designs evolve • Stay current on the evolving landscape of AI product safety, including regulatory expectations and industry best practices • Support the broader Trust & Safety team with cross-functional safety questions and investigations as they relate to product features • As part of a small, collaborative T&S team, contribute to work across the broader team as priorities and needs evolve
