Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer who is an expert in Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), and other deep learning models. Ideally, this candidate would have experience combining these tools in a solution focused on Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). A successful candidate should be able to demonstrate technical proficiency with these mentioned Machine Learning tools and have a proven track record engineering software solutions to process and analyze unstructured data sets. He/she will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers as well as less technical team members (e.g., project managers, customers, executive teams). Responsibilities - Inform product decisions by leveraging technical knowledge of IDP/Generative AI solution architectures and best practices. - Propose forward-thinking ideas in support of data-centric product development. - Develop code for IDP use cases using preferred programming languages to support client requirements. - Utilize LLMs and other Generative AI/Deep Learning algorithms to provide unique solutions for our clients. - Contribute to interdisciplinary solutions that combine data engineering and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to integrate predictive models. - Work within a growing engineering team to support software and systems solutions across customers and projects. - Collaborate with Engineering Team Leads and team members to design and develop solutions that exceed customer expectations. Required Skills and Experience - 5+ years professional, hands-on experience in a Machine Learning engineering (specifically IDP-related) role. - Must be technically proficient in Intelligent Document Processing (including OCR/NLP algorithms), Generative AI and Deep Learning algorithms, and associated technologies, programming languages, and system architectures. - Well-rounded and willing to learn and contribute meaningfully across all technical areas of our project. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations. - Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized. - Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams. - Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work. - Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Preferred Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline. - AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or Microsoft Azure. Certification(s) a plus. - Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodology. - JIRA/Confluence - SQL, C# - Relational and non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Python. - Experience in Docker, CI/CD automation is a plus. - Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers. Compensation The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. • Design and implement AI-powered systems using a mix of classical ML techniques and modern LLM-based approaches, frequently leveraging managed Azure AI/ML services as building blocks. • Apply a range of techniques—from classical ML to LLM-based approaches (RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search)—with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability • Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to deliver high-quality, customer-focused features. • Write clean, testable, well-documented code and contribute to shared engineering standards. • Author clear design docs that explain system behavior, tradeoffs, and long-term implications. • Debug and resolve production issues across application code, data, and ML components. • Evaluate ML systems using metrics and real-world signals, and iteratively improve them. • Participate fully in an Agile development lifecycle, contributing to planning, reviews, and retrospectives. • Stay current on ML and software engineering best practices, adopting new tools thoughtfully and pragmatically.

• Architect and lead the development of highly scalable, distributed infrastructure services on Kubernetes. • Set the technical vision and roadmap for the team, making high-impact decisions that accelerate AV development. • Mentor and guide other engineers on the team, elevating the group's technical abilities through design reviews, pair programming, and direct feedback. • Get hands-on to build and deploy the most complex components of the platform, from high-throughput data processing services to core compute orchestration.

• Lead a team of engineers with a diverse skill set to deliver critical software supporting the development of the autonomous vehicle ML models and software. • Drive innovation by researching and developing new large scale data warehousing and analysis. • Own large-scale data analysis workflows that surface unexpected impacts of planned and unplanned changes to the ML models and software. • Build high-quality datasets to improve ML products through training & edge case validation. • Provide statistical depth on model performance & generalization through rigorous error and change analysis. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
