Manager, Rates and Electrification – Carbon-Free Buildings Program

Corporate Engagement Officer

• Manage and grow revenue from a portfolio of current and prospective corporate partners and complex institutional accounts with annual revenue of $500k+ to RMI. • Support all aspects of partner relationships, including coordinating conversations, preparing outreach, submitting proposals and reports, and responding to inquiries. • Create touch points with corporate partners through meetings with RMI staff, proactive outreach and scheduling, preparation of meeting briefings with strategic goals and background, development of meeting content, and follow-up after meetings. • Provide regular updates to Development and Corporate Engagement leadership on partner conversations, pipelines, opportunities, and relationship status. • Ensure corporate partners are appropriately acknowledged and featured in RMI reports, stewardship materials, events, and other key communications, where relevant. • Support the creation of corporate engagement strategies and cases for support. • Understand corporate partners’ sustainability priorities, climate commitments, business context, philanthropic interests, and partnership goals to effectively represent RMI’s work. • Identify, qualify, solicit, and steward new corporate prospects capable of making five-, six-, and seven-figure contributions, sponsorships, grants, or other strategic commitments. • Provide a high-quality experience for corporate partners and potential partners through education and engagement on RMI’s program portfolio. • Travel to meet with corporate partners and prospects where they are, including at U.S. and global conferences, convenings, and partner meetings. • Support and lead the development of compelling corporate proposals, partnership concepts, letters of inquiry, pitch materials, stewardship reports, and associated budgets to meet partner deadlines and expectations. • Collaborate with program, accounting, finance, legal, and communications teams to ensure timely submissions of proposals, grant applications, partnership materials, and reports. • Oversee or support the creation and timely submission of regular stewardship reports to corporate partners, including narrative, impact, and financial reports as needed. • Respond to partner requests to resolve edits to proposals, budgets, partnership concepts, scopes of work, and reporting materials. • Review proposal budgets and partnership deliverables to ensure alignment with program budgets, partner expectations, and RMI’s internal requirements. • Work closely with program teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of RMI’s work and its alignment with corporate partners’ priorities. • Prepare briefings, strategic plans, talking points, and communications materials for partner meetings, drawing from the expertise of program teams and senior leadership. • Serve as a lead Development or Corporate Engagement point of contact for one to two RMI programs, supporting corporate engagement pipelines, partner strategy, and fundraising materials. • Provide guidance and feedback on corporate-facing materials and ensure program representatives have the information needed to engage with corporate partners. • Inform the Development and Corporate Engagement teams of major program updates, partner intelligence, market trends, and strategic opportunities on a regular basis. • Utilize Salesforce to document moves management, corporate engagement pipelines, relationship history, opportunity stages, revenue projections, and accurate relationship status. • Utilize Monday.com or other project management systems to highlight upcoming reporting, proposal, stewardship, or partner engagement deadlines. • Maintain accurate and timely records of partner interactions, next steps, deliverables, commitments, and risks.

Corporate Partnerships Lead

• Proposal Process Support • Project manage the proposal processes for dozens of complex accounts and multiple relationship managers. • Manage the proposal development process including: Set up timelines for drafts, manage communication between program colleagues and Relationship Managers, ensure that teams are tracking against established timelines, manage final document review, preparation, and submission. • Work with Relationship Managers and Technical Writers to ensure that proposals are of the highest quality and delivered in a timely manner. • Efficiently coordinate with Accounting colleagues to review and approve budgets to submit with proposals; identify when to use a funders’ template or the RMI template; identify approved indirect cost rates for use in budgets. • Track all above via Monday.com and Salesforce. • Funder Report Process Management • Manage the tracking, preparation, and submission of funder reports for vertical Relationship Managers. • Set up drafts, manage communication between program colleagues and Relationship Managers related to the reports and program POLs to ensure that teams are tracking outputs against established timelines, manage final financial and narrative preparation and submission. • Edit content and suggest edits to program teams; always copy edit and polish report drafts. • Review financial reports, in coordination with Accounting, to ensure that they match foundation’s templates and funder expectations. • Track all above via Monday.com and Salesforce. • Financial Oversight for Corporate Philanthropic Engagement • Maintain a current, detailed view and deep knowledge of the corporate vertical’s funding pipeline and give feedback to leadership on funding gaps. • Prepare presentations and reports for RMI leadership on Vertical’s funding projections. • Grant agreement management for philanthropic opportunities, including managing internal reviews and revisions from Legal and Accounting departments, ensuring appropriate pre-approvals for the funding have been secured and logged for internal due diligence, providing effective communication support between Relationship Managers and external partners legal representation, finalizing sign executions according to signatory authority policy, and ensuring all agreements are correctly logged in Salesforce to recognize revenue. • Prepare and run complex Salesforce reports. • Development & Strategic Engagement Team Coordination • Work with the Senior Director of Strategic Operations and other Development POLs to serve the wider Development team and ensure the team has smooth and efficient operations. • Consistently assess current status of systems for managing complex accounts, identify gaps in systems, and suggest improvements with partners in Development and Program Services. • Train users in existing and new systems (e.g.,Salesforce, Monday.com) • Work with Development Communications to ensure funders are accurately represented and accounted for in communications-related decisions and activities. • Account Management and Event Support • Lead operations on major stakeholder convenings for the corporate vertical, including managing input within Salesforce campaigns, assessing prospect lists and outreach from Relationship Managers, and attending weekly executive travel meetings as the corporate vertical team representative. • In conjunction with Relationship Managers, ensure that funders receive timely and accurate information about upcoming events. • Support Relationship Managers in driving forward account strategies by developing and maintaining key account strategy documents and translating that information into Salesforce Account Profiles. • Work with the account fundraising teams (led by Relationship Managers) to develop and implement a systemized and achievable fundraising roadmap and/or stewardship strategy for major donors. • Ensure that details of stewardship plans are compiled and communicated to all involved parties, and that the plan is documented and implemented. • Track engagement and follow-up with corporate accounts and the internal account management team. • Participate in regular coordination meetings with corporate engagement staff embedded within programs (e.g., with the Center for Climate Aligned Finance, Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance, etc.). • Approximate allocation of work tasks is 80% by vertical and 20% in service of the overall Development Team.
Senior Associate, Grid Integration and Markets – Carbon-Free Electricity Program

• Serve as a subject matter expert on power systems within your project teams, ensuring technical rigor and feasibility of proposed solutions. • Independently scope and execute multiple analytical workstreams in parallel, especially those related to markets and grids-focused projects, and support team members in scoping and executing analyses. • Locate, synthesize, and analyze data that allows RMI to shed new light on problems and devise creative solutions. • Use your research and analysis to develop hypotheses, insights, and recommendations that accelerate clean energy deployment, drawing on various change levers such as deployment of technical solutions, capacity building, mobilization of capital, or power sector planning. • Advise on and/or help implement RMI's use of key modeling and analytical tools and resources (e.g., power flow models, production cost models, resource adequacy models, accreditation methods, etc.) and apply this to: • Use, improve, and quality-control both your and teammates existing models. • Develop systems to share and organize technical work across project teams. • Mentor staff to develop and use these tools / skill sets. • Research novel tools and analytical options that RMI could leverage in future project work, including software innovations such as automation, AI, etc. • With support from senior staff, structure and create presentations and writing that bring new insights to partners in a clear and compelling manner. • Contribute publicly at conferences, share expertise in response to media requests, and establish and maintain relationships with a network of technical experts that RMI may collaborate with. • Travel up to 20%, including internationally.
