Position Title: Finance Specialist About Us The Movement Innovation Collaborative (MIC) is a new time-limited entity that will deepen and expand the capacity, impact, and sustainability of California's grassroots movements for racial justice and social transformation. Position Summary The Finance Specialist supports the day-to-day financial operations of Movement Innovation Collaborative. This role manages the flow of financial transactions and documentation across MIC’s finance systems, helping ensure expenses, invoices, and payments are processed accurately and efficiently. What You’ll Be Doing The Finance Specialist will be responsible for monitoring expense submissions, processing invoices and payments, maintaining organized financial records, and tracking transaction activity. The role also supports audit preparation and assists the finance team with maintaining strong financial documentation and processes. While the primary focus of the position is financial operations, the Finance Specialist will provide support to grant administration processes and assist the Deputy Director of Finance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with systems, tracking financial workflows, and helping organizational processes run smoothly. Key Responsibilities include: Financial Transaction Processing Support the processing and documentation of financial transactions across the organization. Responsibilities include: - Review expense submissions in Expensify for completeness and proper documentation - Monitor outstanding expense reports and follow up with staff regarding missing receipts or corrections - Assist staff in troubleshooting expense report and reimbursement questions - Enter and track financial transactions after receiving documentation from staff - Support expense management related to staff travel and organizational gatherings - Maintain organized documentation for expense and reimbursement transactions Vendor Payments & Invoice Processing Support vendor and consultant payment workflows. This role sets and translates strategy into practice, ensuring MIC shows up clearly, consistently, and compellingly to movement partners, funders, leaders, and the broader field. Position Overview The CRM Manager leads and executes the design, build, and maintenance of the MIC’s Salesforce CRM database, under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Operations and Culture and in close collaboration with the Data Strategist and the program team. This position is responsible for building on our initial CRM discovery with additional detailed discovery and then designing and configuring a Salesforce instance from the ground up. What You’ll Be Doing The person in this role must bring a strong understanding of the Salesforce platform options for nonprofits, along with the ability to understand our organizational needs and translate them into an effectively configured Salesforce instance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across the organization and be able to clearly explain design options and their tradeoffs.
