Role Description The System Support Associate is a client-facing position whose primary responsibility is to support clients using Kelmar’s KAPS unclaimed property management system. The System Support Associate will be well versed on using the KAPS system and unclaimed property management with the expectation of becoming an expert in all facets of KAPS as well the possess the ability to assess current processes and recommend improvements and efficiencies. The System Support Associate may also be assigned individual and group projects as needed. The System Support Associate may be required to work occasional evening/holiday hours as needed. Role Description Kelmar’s DevOps Engineer owns the automation, tooling, and infrastructure that power our product development lifecycle. You’ll design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, build observability into every layer of our stack, and partner with development teams to ship reliable software faster. Our applications span Java, Vue, Angular, PHP, Python, TypeScript, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server—running across AWS, Azure, and VMware environments. The DevOps Engineer is a high-impact role where you’ll have direct influence over how we build, test, deploy, and monitor our applications. Responsibilities and Duties: - Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, and release workflows across all environments - Support production applications by profiling performance, debugging issues, and providing actionable guidance to development teams - Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CDK to provision and manage cloud and on-premises resources - Implement and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, or similar) to track application and infrastructure health - Integrate vulnerability management and security compliance requirements—including DISA STIG and related frameworks—into deployment pipelines and operational processes - Triage production incidents, lead root cause analysis, and develop remediation plans alongside application development teams - Build automation for security and compliance testing, accessibility testing, and load/performance testing - Support deployment and maintenance activities during off-hours as needed - Stay current with trends, technology, and business solutions Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, release engineering, or systems engineering in a production environment - Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline preferred, or commensurate experience - Hands-on CI/CD experience building pipelines with GitLab Runners, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tooling - Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, AWS CDK, or equivalent) - Proficiency with scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell, and/or TypeScript/JavaScript - Experience managing and operating log aggregation and monitoring platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK stack, or similar) - Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments, including networking, IAM, and core services - Experience managing Linux systems in a production capacity - Working familiarity with VMware virtualization - Comfort working within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) - Experience writing or supporting Java applications - Practical experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) - Familiarity with security compliance frameworks such as CIS, STIG, FedRAMP, or SOC 2 - Experience with GitOps workflows and declarative deployment patterns - Relevant certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, CKA/CKAD, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, etc.) - Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future. Benefits Compensation for this role varies depending on several factors including work location, level of experience, and skill set.
