Our National Conversation (ONC)

• Maintain our website. • Page designs, bug fixes, complete a few pages, etc. • Research and use WordPress and PHP software. • Implement new features according to incoming design and functional requirements. • Work closely with the IT Director of Technology, but most work will be completed independently. • Time management is an essential skill for this role. • High level of communication is expected while coordinating in a remote environment.

• The Moderate Writer Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks in the Core Content Department. • The Moderate Writer Intern will focus on writing political content for ONC, including but not necessarily limited to high-quality OpEds and Policy Proposals for ONC’s website. • Create consistent content for the website with a team of core content writers. • Ensure ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is reflected in all published work. • Occasionally participate in podcasts, events, and other tasks as needed.

• Create consistent content for the website with a team of core content writers. • Ensure ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is reflected in all published work. • Participate in civil dialogue with conservative, progressive, and moderate writers focused on our 8 policy areas: Governance, Economics, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Foreign Policy and Defense, Justice and Public Safety, Social Issues, and Science, Environment and Technology. • Participate in podcasts, events, and other tasks as needed.

• Preproduction support: research episode topics, guests, and relevant visuals; prepare notes and episode outlines • Scripting & formatting: draft episode scripts, segment cues, and social clip captions • Remote recording assistance: run virtual recording sessions (e.g. Zoom), monitor audio/video quality, troubleshoot basic tech issues • Audio editing: clean up dialogue (noise reduction, EQ, level matching), assemble multi-track sessions, and export final episode masters • Video editing: create episode video edits, picture-in-picture or speaker cuts, and repurpose long-form content into short clips • Managing the media folder within the ONC Google drive • Effectively communicate (Slack, Email, Zoom) and attend meetings

• Collaborate with various departments to create creative and informative content that engages members of our Community • Create advertisements, with headlines from the creative writing team, for potential sponsors of our organization • Create designs including, but not limited to book covers, infographics, logos, fliers, graphics for video projects, etc. • Communicate with the CEO, COO, and Director of Marketing professionally about designs, necessary layouts and content, timelines and ideas

• Create scripts and jokes for social media content. • Work with AI Animation and monthly podcasts. • Collaborate with the Media & Marketing team.

• Contribute to ONC’s mission of providing non-partisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by leading a team of editorial interns • Delegate tasks to interns within the department, assigning responsibilities based on their strengths and expertise • Provide guidance and support to interns, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to excel in their roles • Actively coach interns, fostering their professional development and helping them navigate their responsibilities within the department • May collaborate with others to create and/or oversee professional and engaging content

• Contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions • Completes essential tasks in the technology department • Undergo changes to our website and conceptualize new designs in Figma • Work on the design for our mobile app • Create designs for graphics, newsletters, advertisements, fliers etc. • Work closely with the COO, CEO, Team Lead, Director of Technology and other UI/UX Design Interns while also working independently

• Deliver timely news updates and topic breakdowns on our social media platforms • Effectively implement AI in an ethical manner • Conduct on-the-street interviews for our social media platforms • Work closely with the Social Media team lead, the Director of Marketing, the CEO and the COO • Produce clear, SEO-friendly stories, headlines, social posts; edit for web reading • Collaborate with the social media team to create engaging video reels featuring on-the-street interviews and other relevant content • Shoot/edit photos and video, record/audio, produce shorts • Monitor audience feedback and engagement metrics to identify trends and opportunities for audience interaction and growth • Actively participate in coaching sessions and workshops to enhance reporting skills and public speaking abilities
