Role Description The CTO Office at Heartbeat AI GmbH sits at the intersection of product, engineering, organizational design, and strategic operations. You will report to the Chief of Staff and work in close proximity to the Heartbeat AI GmbH executive team at a moment when the product-tech organization is scaling and driving a fundamental shift toward AI-driven ways of working. - Drive cross-team coordination: You triage incoming requests, coordinate across teams, and ensure priorities don't get lost in a high-velocity organization. - Turn cross-functional initiatives into scalable processes: You lead projects end-to-end — from scoping and alignment through to delivery — and ensure the solutions you ship are scalable. - Apply a product builder lens: Whether a topic calls for a requirements brief, a lightweight prototype, or a structured analytical frame, you bring genuine depth to the problem. - Prepare leadership to act decisively: You produce the decision materials, pre-alignments, and follow-through structures that convert strategy sessions into clear ownership and next steps. Qualifications - You have 2–4 years of experience in product management or a strategy and operations role at a technology company. - You have a track record of driving cross-functional projects independently, from scoping through to delivery. - You move naturally between operational detail and strategic framing, writing a sharp requirements brief and running a stakeholder alignment session are equally comfortable for you. - You communicate with clarity and directness in both English and German, written and spoken (C1/C2 in both). - You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and in close proximity to senior leadership — experience working directly with founders or executives in a startup or scale-up environment is a strong plus. - You take ownership seriously and hold yourself to a high standard: when something lands on your plate, it gets done excellently. - You have a genuine interest in how AI is changing the ways of working. Qualifications - 10+ years of software engineering and technology leadership experience. - Experience leading engineering organizations, technology departments, or software teams. - Previous experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, Head of Technology, or similar leadership role. - Strong experience within healthcare technology, digital health, healthcare operations, clinical platforms, EMR/EHR ecosystems, or related healthcare environments. - Proven experience implementing or leading AI, machine learning, generative AI, LLM, agentic AI, or intelligent automation initiatives. - Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Experience building and scaling technology teams. - Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
