As part of the Data Governance team, the Data Governance Lead will support the essential functions of Data Governance such as: - Metadata Management - Reference Data Management - Information Life Cycle Management - Data Quality - Management of Inova’s key business information This role is responsible for implementing and driving the adoption of Data Governance practices and chosen technology, including: - Data management - Data transformation and validation of quality - Defining roles and responsibilities with the business to support data ownership and curation - Enabling Inova’s business stakeholders to partner in their data journey The Data Governance Lead will help build the framework and roadmap for Data Governance at Inova alongside a team of experienced professionals who are passionate about providing trusted insights that drive world-class healthcare. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree; or Associate’s degree and 2 years relevant professional experience; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience - 4 years' experience in leading a data governance program or progressive responsibility in the development of a data governance program, including 2 years of experience leading a data governance program - Epic certified within 6 months of hire Requirements - Supports the Program Director for Analytics and Informatics as a subject matter expert in defining and developing policies, standards, processes, and metrics to support Inova’s Data Governance Program - Leads data stewardship at Inova to promote a data-driven culture - Maintains and publishes Inova’s Data Asset Inventories, Catalogs, Business Glossaries, Data Lineage including documentation of data architecture with minimal supervisory oversight - Maintains high data quality and works with business to define acceptable thresholds for success - Translates business challenges related to Data Governance into resolutions, develops, implements, and supports thereof - Serves as a mentor to Data Governance Analysts and provides coaching; may also delegate and review work of Analyst as needed - Oversees and assists team members in assigned functional area, ensuring team is meeting key deliverables and quality standards, addressing and resolving challenges, managing and tracking performance, and assisting in time management and scheduling; escalates issues to senior leaders as needed - Performs other duties as assigned Benefits - Committed to Team Member Health: offering medical, dental and vision coverage, and a robust team member wellness program - Retirement: Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions – starting on your first day - Tuition and Student Loan Assistance: offering up to $5,250 per year in education assistance and up to $10,000 for student loans - Mental Health Support: offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost - Work/Life Balance: offering paid time off, paid parental leave, flexible work schedules, and remote and hybrid career opportunities
