• Design, build and integrate scalable and reliable backend systems based on business and product requirements. • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and operational issues. • Drive improvements in scalability, performance, reliability, observability, and cost optimization. • Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts for new products and features and do POC to validate new AI initiatives. • Take complete ownership of projects from design through deployment and production support. • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA teams, and other engineering teams. • Lead the establishment and evolution of Sun King's AI Engineering capabilities, including architecture, tooling, development standards, and best practices. • Define and drive the AI technology stack, ensuring scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective adoption of AI across engineering and business workflows. • Architect systems that combine LLMs, retrieval systems, business logic, databases, APIs, and operational tooling. • Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and models, and provide technical direction on their adoption and integration within the organization. • Mentor and guide engineers on backend architecture, AI system design, and implementation best practices, fostering AI expertise across the team.

• ETL/ELT Pipeline Development: Build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS. Implement both batch and incremental load patterns for BI reporting and application data needs. • Real-Time Data Streaming: Develop and manage real-time data ingestion pipelines using Kafka. Ensure low-latency, fault-tolerant data flow for critical business workflows. • Workflow Orchestration: Build, schedule, and monitor end-to-end data workflows using Apache Airflow. Manage dependencies, retries, and alerting for production DAGs. • Data Warehouse Management: Administer and optimize Amazon Redshift clusters including schema design, query performance tuning, distribution/sort keys, and vacuuming to ensure high availability and cost efficiency. • Data Quality & Observability: Implement automated data quality checks at ingestion and transformation stages. Define validation rules, build alerting for anomalies and discrepancies, and establish SLAs to ensure stakeholders can trust the data they use. • API Integrations: Integrate third-party and internal REST APIs into data pipelines to pull operational and product data into the warehouse. • Cloud Cost Optimization: Monitor and right-size data processing and storage resources across S3, EMR, Redshift, EC2, and Lambda. Proactively identify inefficiencies and propose cost-saving improvements. • BI & Analytics Collaboration: Partner with the BI team to align data models, preprocessing logic, and Redshift schema design with reporting and dashboard needs.

• Research, design, train, and productionize deep learning models for speech/audio (ASR, speaker diarization, audio classification, TTS, noise suppression) and computer vision (detection, segmentation, classification, video understanding) use cases. • Architect training pipelines capable of handling large-scale datasets, manage data preprocessing, augmentation, and versioning workflows. • Select and adapt state-of-the-art architectures (Transformers, CNNs, RNNs, diffusion models, etc.) and fine-tune or distill pre-trained models for production constraints. • Optimize models for inference - quantization, pruning, knowledge distillation - targeting latency, throughput, and memory budgets on CPU/GPU/edge hardware. • Work with software engineers to integrate models into production systems, design APIs and microservices for model serving. • Define and track evaluation benchmarks, monitor model performance in production, and drive continuous improvement cycles. • Stay current with research literature, evaluate and implement relevant SOTA techniques, contribute to internal technical forums.

• Own Application security responsibility for assigned business functions by performing threat modeling, architecture reviews, penetration testing, secure coding programs, and vulnerability management. • Perform manual penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on web applications, APIs, and android mobile applications • Perform security reviews for AI‑native products, models, pipelines, and inference services. • Onboard applications into the SSDLC program and be a security point of contact for the application product. • Own security incident response for product-layer issues, define remediation plans, and track fixes through to closure • Integrate and tune SAST/DAST/IAST/SCA tools in CI/CD, create custom rules where needed and actively triage false positives. • Review and harden cloud infrastructure — Kubernetes RBAC, pod security, network policies, Istio service mesh, Keycloak/OIDC configurations, and IAM across AWS, DigitalOcean, GCP, and Firebase • Communicate vulnerabilities and risk clearly to developers, product managers, and leadership — in language that drives actionable results • Conduct Application security trainings for engineers, product managers etc

You will empower your Data Operations Leads to execute this curriculum daily. - **Strategic Recruitment:** Lead the selection and onboarding of regional Data Operations Leads and oversee the data-driven recruitment engine used to filter high-volume campus applications and secure top-tier talent. - **Define Technical Standards:** Establish the Sun King Data Standard, ensuring every graduate masters SQL, LookML, and the business logic required for specialized roles. - **Service Accountability:** Set the global strategy for the Data Desk. While your regional Leads manage daily ticket assignments, you are responsible for overall SLA performance, quality of output, and the health of escalation pathways. - **Operationalize Quality:** Partner with the Data Product team to define high-level SOPs. You will guide your Data Operations Leads in testing these procedures to ensure they are realistic for the junior workforce. - **Systemic Automation:** Lead the transition of manual tasks into automated self-service tools by working with the Engineering Hub. Your goal is to provide the Data Product team with high-quality assets that reduce the support burden on the desk. - **Management of Regional Leads:** Provide mentorship and professional development to the Data Operations Leads. You will ensure they are utilizing their squads effectively and maintaining technical rigor across all cohorts. - **Hands-On Mentorship:** While your focus is on the system, you will remain close to the technical work. • Design, build, and maintain Sun King’s internal geospatial data environment, consolidating electrification plans, socioeconomic datasets, grid maps, demographic layers, mobility data, and other spatial resources across markets. • Develop and maintain geospatial databases with a strong focus on data quality, consistency, and ease of access. • Integrate Sun King’s proprietary data (sales performance, agent networks, customer locations, asset positions, and operational activity) into GIS platforms. • Streamline GIS workflows and develop custom scripts to improve processing speed and efficiency. • Work closely with Data & BI teams to incorporate GIS outputs into company dashboards and planning tools (for example, Tableau or Power BI). • Develop or coordinate interactive, web-based visualisation platforms and layered GIS maps that combine demographic, economic, and infrastructure data for use by internal and external stakeholders. • Partner with software development teams to integrate GIS data and market potential models into mobile applications used by field teams. • Present complex spatial insights in clear, practical ways that enable action among non-technical teams. • Enable internal teams to apply geospatial tools and outputs effectively in their work. • Coordinate relationships with external GIS partners, research institutions, and data providers.
