We seek a Technical Sourcing Manager reporting to the Supply Chain Director, accountable for strategic sourcing of PCBA components, supplier relations, and commercial results across important hardware categories. Located in Taipei, the team partners closely with regional suppliers and internal collaborators to guarantee an efficient, high-quality, and consistent supply of components vital for hardware production. The TeamThe position will be within the Supply Chain team at Graphcore. This team belongs to the Operations group and includes members located in Bristol and Taiwan. The team handles the creation and oversight of a strong manufacturing subcontract supply chain for Graphcore. Responsibilities and Duties - Responsible for sourcing PCBA components, including supplier identification, evaluation, and selection. - Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives. - Manage supplier relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for key vendors. - Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to support new product introduction and build for supply chain considerations. - Drive cost optimization initiatives including value engineering and competitive sourcing strategies. - Monitor supplier performance against important metrics and implement improvement plans where required. - Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply for critical components. - Work together with quality teams to resolve supplier quality problems and promote corrective measures. - Analyze market trends, component availability, and pricing to inform sourcing strategies. - Lead and develop procurement processes, tools, and guidelines within the team. Job Summary As a Senior Manufacturing Product Engineer, you will be working closely with the Graphcore Design and Test Engineering teams, Quality and Supply Chain Management in support of NPI development and volume production. You will work closely with the relevant Contract Manufacturer (CM) to provide day to day manufacturing support as well as continuous improvements in manufacturing capabilities, quality and yield. A key focus for this role will be to develop and improve data-driven decision making methodology using lean six sigma and similar techniques within Graphcore and our suppliers. The Team The role will be as part of the Manufacturing and Technology Process team at Graphcore. This team is part of the Operations group and has members in Bristol, Cambridge and Taiwan. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes at the wafer foundry, package assembly and PCBA subcontractors based in Taiwan. Key Responsibilities and Duties - Develop a deep technical understanding of the CM capabilities and ensure alignment with hardware design - Support the technical interface between internal engineering teams and the CM during NPI and mass production - Drive continuous improvement in PCB assembly process capability, yield, throughput, and quality at CM sites, working with Graphcore and supplier quality teams - Work with supplier engineering to apply Lean Six Sigma tools and statistical methods to reduce defects, variation, scrap, and rework. - Champion best practices in manufacturing data collection and management, traceability, analysis and reporting - Use manufacturing data analytics to identify process trends, systemic issues, and opportunities for automation or optimization. - Lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as: DMAIC, 8D, fishbone analysis, FMEA and Design of Experiments - This position will require travel in Taiwan and global travel to Graphcore sites or to other suppliers. Job Summary We are looking for a Shock, Vibration, & Transportation Engineer to ensure the reliability of AI hardware systems, including components, servers, and rack-level products. This role focuses on transportation validation, mechanical reliability, and packaging performance under real-world conditions. The engineer will be responsible for executing ISTA-based testing, analyzing failures, and providing practical debug solutions to improve product robustness and shipment readiness. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products can safely withstand global logistics environments while meeting performance and cost targets. Key Responsibilities and Skills - Plan and execute shock, vibration, and transportation tests for AI components, servers, and rack systems - Develop test plans based on ISTA and ASTM standards and real-world logistics conditions - Perform testing including: - Random vibration, sine sweep, and mechanical shock - Packaged vibration, drop, and incline impact - Lead packaging validation and shipment strategy: - Evaluate protection performance vs cost - Define assembly vs disassembly approach for shipment - Conduct mechanical inspection and liquid cooling validation: - Identify structural damage and leakage risks - Execute functional validation during/after testing (system stress program) - Perform failure analysis and root cause investigation - Provide debug solutions and design/packaging improvements - Analyze test data (PSD, resonance) and generate reports - Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ODM partners Qualifications Required - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or related field - Experience in shock, vibration, or transportation testing - Familiar with ISTA standards and vibration/shock fundamentals (PSD, Grms) - Knowledge of mechanical failure mechanisms (PCB, solder, connectors) - Strong debug and root cause analysis skills Preferred - Experience with AI servers or data center hardware - Knowledge of liquid cooling systems - Familiar with ASTM / JEDEC / IEC standards - Experience in packaging design and rack-level shipment - Familiar with failure analysis tools (X-ray, cross-section, etc.) Benefits In addition to a competitive salary, Graphcore offers a competitive benefits package. Job Summary Responsible for system-level reliability of AI servers with liquid cooling and HVDC architectures, owning reliability validation, shock & vibration robustness, and failure analysis from board to rack level to ensure safe transport, deployment, and long-term datacenter operation. Key Responsibilities and skills - Plan and execute reliability validation across board, server, and rack levels. - Define and run environmental, accelerated, and mechanical tests, including thermal/power cycling, humidity, corrosion, shock & vibration, and HALT/HASS. - Lead shock & vibration validation for transportation, handling, seismic, and operational conditions. - Assess reliability risks for liquid cooling systems (leakage, fatigue, pump life, corrosion, coolant stability). - Evaluate HVDC mechanical and electrical robustness (busbars, connectors, power interfaces). - Perform reliability prediction and life data analysis (Weibull, MTBF). - Lead cross-functional design reviews and drive risk mitigation. - Conduct failure analysis and RCA using standard FA methodologies. - Define and maintain reliability and S&V test specifications (JEDEC, Telcordia GR-63, JESD22, MIL-STD-810, ISTA, ASHRAE, UL, IEC). - Implement On-going Reliability Test (ORT) for production quality. - Document results and support customer audits and certifications. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Materials, or related Engineering. - 10+ years of reliability engineering experience in AI servers, datacenter systems, HPC, or complex electronics. - Hands-on experience with environmental, shock, and vibration testing. - Strong knowledge of reliability methodologies and statistical analysis. - Practical experience with liquid cooling and HVDC systems. - Proven failure analysis and RCA capability. - Strong communication skills in English; Mandarin a plus. Preferred Experience - AI server architecture and large-scale liquid cooling systems. - FEA/modal analysis and test correlation. - Datacenter, telecom, and transportation standards knowledge. - Reliability certification (e.g., ASQ CRE).
