Role Description We are looking for a Rust Developer to join our backend team. You'll contribute to the development of our next-generation cybersecurity platform — a distributed system that connects, protects, and manages IoT and edge devices at scale. - Develop and maintain backend services and platform components using Rust. - Design and implement scalable APIs and asynchronous microservices. - Collaborate with the engineering team to build secure, reliable, and high-performance distributed systems. - Integrate cybersecurity features such as authentication, encryption, secure communication, and telemetry into the platform. - Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of platform architecture, ensuring maintainability and scalability. - Troubleshoot, benchmark, and optimize applications for performance and resource efficiency. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and engineering best practices to maintain high code quality. - Collaborate across Product, DevOps, and Security teams to deliver robust solutions. Qualifications - 3-6 years of experience in backend or platform engineering. - Professional experience with Rust, or strong experience with another systems programming language (such as C++, Go, or Java) and a demonstrated interest in Rust. - Good understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and modern backend development. - Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; familiarity with gRPC or message-driven architectures is a plus. - Experience with Linux, Docker, and cloud environments (AWS or similar). - Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, and messaging technologies such as Kafka or NATS. - Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and documentation. - Basic understanding of security concepts, including authentication, encryption, and secure application development. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team. Requirements - Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing). - Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD). - Experience contributing to open-source projects. - Background in cybersecurity, IoT, edge computing, or embedded systems. - Familiarity with functional programming concepts. Role Description We're hiring our first dedicated QA Lead to own quality across Exein's two flagship products: the Analyzer platform and the Runtime platform. - Analyzer platform: point-in-time firmware, container, and SBOM security scanning, with CVE and compliance analysis. - Runtime platform: live threat detection ingesting telemetry from a fleet of on-device agents. Both products span the full stack: - Rust microservices - Next.js web apps - CLIs - Security agents running from the cloud to constrained embedded hardware. What's missing is someone to own the discipline end to end: to define the strategy, raise the bar, close the coverage gaps, and make release quality a signal the whole company can trust. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll set the direction and write the automation. Over time, and with impact, it's the seed of a QA function you can grow. Qualifications - Several years in QA/test engineering, including ownership of test automation for a production software product. - Strong automation skills — comfortable reading and writing code, building test suites, and integrating them into CI/CD. - Hands-on experience testing both APIs/backends and web frontends. - A systems mindset — ability to reason about distributed services, event-driven architectures, and auth/multi-tenancy. - Fluency with modern test tooling (e.g. Playwright, Robot Framework, Cypress, BDD/Cucumber-style frameworks). - Ability to set direction independently in a fast-moving environment. - Excellent written communication — precise bug reports and clear rationale. - Experience with regression strategy for platforms with multiple interacting components. Requirements - Own the QA strategy across Analyzer and Runtime — define what "release-ready" means. - Build and extend automated test suites across the stack. - Prevent production incidents by systematically closing the gaps where they originate. - Build cross-cutting regression coverage. - Design test strategy for hard-to-test surfaces. - Make quality visible — drive metrics down (or up) over time. - Partner with engineering as the quality conscience of the release process. - Lay the foundation for a QA function — set standards, tooling, and playbooks. - Grow the Runtime Test Framework.
