Role Description Equal Education Partners delivers an online mentoring programme to several hundred year 12/13 learners on behalf of the Seren Academy to support mentees with university applications, advice and guidance on what it's like to study at university and interview skills. By being matched with mentees with similar aspirations to those the mentors have achieved, mentors will share experiences, resources and top tips for their studied subjects and university destinations. Mentors will provide guidance and support on topics relating to the university admissions process and share appropriate and useful resources with mentees to support with their university applications. Mentors will be employed during the fixed term (June 2026 - December 2026) and will receive ongoing support throughout the course of the programme. Key Responsibilities - Provide 3-4, 50-minute 1-1 mentoring session(s) to a minimum of 4 and 10 mentees with their university applications; - Provide guidance and support on topics relating to the university admissions process (e.g. personal statements and university admission interviews); - Share appropriate and useful resources with mentees to support with their university applications; - Taking a proactive approach to supporting mentees (e.g. scheduling sessions); - Working collaboratively with the project delivery team; - Other reasonable relevant responsibilities as required. Qualifications - Studying for or recently graduated from a degree/postgraduate degree; - Knowledge and experience of the application process for university; - Communication skills; - ICT skills; - Ability to work independently and plan. Requirements - We are particularly keen to hear from current undergraduate students studying any of the following subjects: - Accounting / Finance - Architecture - Biology (including Molecular Biology) - Business - Economics - Engineering - Mathematics Benefits - Mentors are paid £15 per hour, with payments made monthly; - Being part of a supportive mentoring community; - Access to regular training opportunities; - Ongoing online support.
